I’m for providing right of way for Bikes etc …as I am for pedestrians on footpaths, crossings etc but in the first instance the “regulation” must be fair to each party

The Rules of the road are predicated on various factors , one being the type of conveyance, speed characteristics etc likely( historically) to use said roads

The increasing uptake of powered bikes/ scooters needs to be properly integrated…regulated if you like

The other to ensure

Agree Rich ….as is the safety of pedestrians in the hands of intermingled powered conveyance operators….

I have advocated for dedicated bikeways , increased on road bike lanes ( as on N’Borne Av in Canberra) and take the example of Amsterdam as a benchmark to aspire to

There is a difference between the the”rules of the road”and the Licensing of the Operator of particular classes of conveyances
It is within that context my remarks remain true

FTR …I’m a supporter of and advocate for greater uptake of bikes, e-bikes and scooters 🛴 …..and their operators safety

Herm ,the argument is about minimum rules which apply no matter the conveyance be it a bike,e-bike,scooter,e-scooter, etc USING THE ROADS
