My primary school made me do cursive, my handwriting was a mess, and it discouraged me from writing.
My secondary school didn't care, I stopped doing cursive, my handwriting improved and I enjoyed writing more
JOHN JOHN JOHN JOHN JOHN
In a group chat recently someone mentioned Al Carns and intentionally or not, called him Al Carbs.
I genuinely thought this was his name and was baffled when I couldn't find anything about him
Market Deeping is where I live with my wife and son!
Repost with your home river.
I have a couple! I have the Eau, which rises from a natural spring in my hometown of Bourne and becomes a tributary to the River Glen, itself a tributary to the Welland.
Which brings me to the Welland. There's an annual raft race in the Deepings stretch of the Welland

Bob Mumby, #author of yesterday's #SaturdayShowcase #AlternateHistory #book "Chasing Shadows", teams up with David Hoggard in this free-to-read first #chapter of the #WhatIf #Ireland story "Many a Hero Untold". www.sealionpress.co.uk/post/first-c...
In today's #SaturdayShowcase of past SLP #AlternateHistory books, it's "Chasing Shadows" by Bob Mumby. #WhatIf the #BusinessPlot had been real - but the corporate puppet president #SmedleyButler had a chance of heart? www.sealionpress.co.uk/product-page...
Literally just finished Campaign 2 and while I've not listened to Campaign 3 I understand its considerably more self referential than Campaign 2 - and both C1 and C2 characters turn up

why ask this guy if there's evidence and let him say 'well I see it and I know the concerns are real' when you already have the evidence that he's wrong and a liar
The veterinarian in Iran is being so adorably gentle with this grouchy cat.
He’s saying, “will you give me permission to listen to your heart?”
And then he jokingly curses the stethoscope after the cat rejects it.
Hi
I taught at a primary school where a 'key fact' the children had to learn was that in Ancient Egypt, people only lived to 35. How old was Rameses II when he died?
Oh don't worry. I listened to @iwriteok.bsky.social Behind the Bastards episodes on Nature Boy. It's never been better for the aspirant cult leader out there
Also what does he mean by 'he thinks about WW2'
This guy sounds like an 'independent' in the sense that the NSDAP no longer exists
Genuinely wretched human being - there are people in the Labour Party I dislike, but at least with Wes Streeting you know that he believes things, even if they are grim things. Worse yet is that we KNOW Starmer used to believe things. Now he's just a political slime mould, animated only by heat
I was exactly this age in thus year and am also a teacher and brother I have no idea why these people think ADD diagnoses get handed out like candy, and also the reason I'm left wing is not out of guilt or indoctrination, but because my fairly centrist-liberal parents taught me the value of empathy
Lincolnshire going straight from Conservative majority to Reform majority is horrifying

About 150 years ago, it was the conventional belief in America that extreme wealth disparity would lead to the wealthy acting like Kings
Return To Tradition: Having Barack Obama become President no matter how esoteric the POD
This is so so cool! I did a little 'Alternate Origins' thing a while ago. I kept the overall classes of Vox Machina the same - but I also went for Bard!Vax
Nine dogs and a mini horse, named Jimmy, who believes he's also a dog (and who are we to tell him otherwise)
As today is Indigenous Peoples' Day, here's a list of meanings of the word for a horse in five indigenous languages:
5. Burden bearer (Cherokee)
4. It is ridden (Mohawk)
3. Tame elk (Cheyenne)
2. Big deer (Creek)
1. Mystery dog (Lakota)
A Level 1 Cleric might be a cultist who was raised to worship a particular divinity and their powers vaguely stem from there, but by level 3 they might have separated from their former cult and have started venerating a different godhead
And then you find that that build might change as you are confronted by the story. I joined my now wife's game with a very specific vision of a Fathomless Warlock/Swashbuckler Rogue and very quickly became specifically enamoured with the Swashbuckler features and wished that I'd just specialised
It's extremely easy to dunk on everybody getting their subclass at level 3, but I kind of like some of the creative/worldbuilding possibilities. One of the fun things about DND is playing the game making impacts on your choices - you might go into a game with a particular build in mind
