Inside the growing opposition to wind energy in Alberta | The Narwhal In rural Alberta, Kneehill County residents are fighting a new wind energy farm. Their concerns are echoed by the provincial government

Farmers and landowners say proposed wind turbines — some the size of the Calgary Tower — are little more than an urban idea forced onto rural communities. They have the ear of the Alberta government, writes @drewanderson.bsky.social

The number of renewable energy opportunities in Alberta are incredible. More than 172.000 capped wells across AB, there's their geothermal heating. They're in the Goldilocks zone for solar, and #2 most wind in Canada. AB could be a 100% renewable province along with SK. They just don't wanna 🤦‍♂️

There's no doubt we could be an energy leader instead of an energy laggard if fossil brains weren't in charge. 💀🧠

The future of electricity is wind & solar. Canada is lagging behind. With de facto political bans on renewables in the best places for solar, Alberta & Saskatchewan, catching up will be difficult even though it's technically simple & cheap #cdnpoli #abpoli #skpoli #solar www.cbc.ca/news/science...

This is why I'm not as upset about Canada making fossil fuel MOUs as I might be. Market demand is likely to disappear, making them irrelevant #cdnpoli

This Is How Energy Systems Collapse - EV Curve Futurist Clean tech is already displacing gas demand at scale. This is how cost curves, China, and materials trigger the collapse of legacy energy systems.

Clean tech isn’t “coming.” It’s already cutting into fossil demand at scale.

Solar, wind, EVs and batteries are displacing gas equivalent to ~half of global LNG trade.

This is how energy systems collapse. 👇

This is my favourite graphic.

It's incredible how far DAYTIME solar has already come with almost no batteries.

Just think how this will change with batteries, when instead of daytime solar, we get DISPATCHABLE solar.

The solar boom is only just starting...

The US cattle and beef industry is in a bad way. The megadrought currently plaguing the western states has been going on for 22 yrs, with no signs of abating. The quality of grazing land has declined, raising feed costs and driving the cattle herd to its lowest numbers since 1951. Meatpackers are
