As with the v good performance vs Gala, "how" the players are asked to approach the game is more important than 1 or 2 different selections. Rather than being conservative and fearful we need to press, be aggressive in duels, play forwards fast not the slow tempo we've often seen

Given Salah is injured and Slot suggested Frimpong might need to be rested I suspect Szoboszlai will play RB, which means Wirtz back at 10. Likely Rio on right and Gakpo back on left. I'd start Curtis in one of 2 midfield positions but I doubt he'll start.
Do you know how bad you have to be to make Spurs look good?? Embarrassing, no improvement all season, just a disorganised badly coached mess of a team.
Well it might look like the players are all over the place in the match, we've seen that quite often this season lol
Yeah agreed.
Agreed.
Hard to know which players will be in which position until game starts.
Frimpong at RW or RB?
Ngumoha at LW or RW?
Wirtz at 10 or LW?
Gakpo at CF or LW?
Szoboszlai at 10 or RB?
Spurs have like a dozen players injured, are in free fall losing every game so nothing but a convincing victory is acceptable. But we've been saying that all season and we never know what we'll get this season.
Rio showed that he could've and should've played more this season, especially since how predictable and poor Gakpo has been. Not saying he should start regularly, but deserved some starts and more minutes.
But I was also impressed with Nyoni's short cameo, won the ball, passed crisp, mobile.
Love the muppets but I watched the first episode of the New Muppet show that Seth Rogan has produced on Disney+ and it was awful. They tried to replicate everything as it was but it was simply not funny at all. Lacked that spontaneity, genuine innovation and zanyness. Also kermit's voice was off.
For months now there is a daily pro-Palestinian protest at the Milan Duomo. Across the square are the TV studios for many of the Olympics broadcasters. Most of the people standing with flags tonight are older Milanese folks who arrive most evenings to draw attention to Gaza.
Rodri hasn't been that good this season though (or at least the structure around him as well) so I'm not sure it's the acid test it used to be. But I'm also a believer in Wirtz and how great he can be just i don't think this is necessarily a defining game whether he plays great or not.
Salah has now started more Premier League games for Liverpool than Reina. He's fifth on the all-time list, behind only Carragher, Gerrard, Henderson and Hyypiรค. ๐ช๐ฌ๐
A must win game for both teams.
Jones should not leave, he should be extended. We're already not filling our homegrown quota. It's hard to get goodbye though HG players.
that's the part that angered me. you can't do that at Liverpool especially when you have a league winning squad and spent ยฃ450m to improve it. Klopp never got that backing and he was always upbeat no matter the odds.
Endo at CB for Qarabag. He's actually won Motm's for us playing at CB, but he's very undercooked with lack of minutes and obviously aging now so lacks pace. Should be enough vs Qarabag (if others do their jobs too) but it'll be an issue in the league.
Poor presser by Slot, not Hodgson level but bad. Trying to lower ambitions. Moaning about things he's been the architect of. Making some rather deluded comments. Looked a bit broken and downbeat. What we and the players need is fighting talk, confidence, belief, a plan etc. Not seeing any of that.
We are in serious risk of not qualifying for the Champions League (I still think we will, even if we don't change the coach). But even with the injuries when you look at the squad we do still have a good chance of FA Cup and an outside chance of Champions League (though improbable with Arne)

Sensational production levels and I think this is going to pretty close to the new normal #LFC
Since it's the "intelligence" service that word doesn't apply to the Trump administration.
In this unbeaten run since Forest beat us 3-0 at Anfield we've dropped 10 pts to Sunderland, Leeds, Fulham, Arsenal & Burnley. Narrowly beat relegated Wolves & 9 man Spurs. I actually think Burnley game was one of the better performances (particularly 1st half) but it's all rather underwhelming.
A season of bad records this.
8 points dropped in the last 4 games, all draws. Arsenal obviously a tough game, but Leeds, Fulham and Burnley are bad results. The performance today wasn't as bad as many performances we've had in this 'unbeaten' run but it's against a certain relegated team at home so it has to be a win.
I think he realises how it can help take pressure off him after an awful season so far. He'll play a strong team.
Yes of course but that's a lot harder to win given how we've played all season.
While Slot threw the Carabao Cup game, especially with his bench selection, I think he'll go considerably stronger in FA Cup as midway through season we're already out of 2 competitions. It's the best chance we have of a trophy. I'd like to see some changes especially Ngumoah.
We did well 2nd half, for sure much better than in the first. But in a game we created 0.36xG in total with first time in 600 games zero shots on target I wouldn't overpraise it. We had no box presence but if you add back Hugo we lose the extra man in midfield that gave us more control.
*apologies for spelling mistakes lol
This is part of the cost of keeping a manager beyond his time, you lose players who can help you and bridges get burnt which didn't need to be.
