This is exactly how i felt growing up. With section 28 in effect almost the entirety of my education years, where common consensus was that even being perceived as gay was something to be ostracised for, I was terrified to say or do anything for fear it would get me locked up or worse

DIY or die is now quite literal... These draconian laws make it impossible for trans kids to go via the NHS, and the wait times beforehand as well.

Great article. Refusal to participate in any NHS gender service is the only safe option for trans kids now. Also, “Gender questioning” is from the same pot as “trans identifying.” Invalidating language.

Which will just add to the already-burgeoning DIY sector, like most of the rest of the world.

Next is likely the roll out of the 0-25 service (see Cass), I’m expecting them to try to further restrict access to HRT for 18-25’s with the developing brain pseudo science argument.
Suspect this may be used to clamp down more on access to private options, to make the NHS the only game in town.

It’s a continuation of the strategy of embedding their ‘anything but Trans’ policies into the defined medical language & processes.
The terminology is used to hide non-treatment of Trans kids <18, with PB’s & HRT banned there is only talking therapy, forcing Trans kids through an unwanted puberty.
