At meeting of Norfolk County Council today - judging by the number of Tory twin-hatters who haven’t shown up there isn’t a lot of love from their own group for their version of devolution. Voting with their feet rather than support the Tory motion on #devolution #norfolk

Day two on the picket outside NEU offices — a 🧵

So many messages of solidarity have poured in from NEU and multiple union districts and branches across the UK. Thank you so much…

Sad to have to strike today

My minimum expectation is that our trade union employer should follow its own rules and protocols and avoid the worst practices of the employers that the NEU fights on behalf of its members

That low bar has not been met

Solidarity with all my #NEU #UNITE siblings

NEU staff are on strike today and tomorrow.

We can’t beleive it’s come to this. Striking as a trade union worker requires an absurd amount of things to go wrong — because you spend everyday making the union you love the kind of organisation people want to join - you only ever want to see it win.

Education, education, education? When will Labour tackle the crisis engulfing our schools, colleges and universities? All levels of our education system face a systemic crisis. Yet as with so many other areas of policy, Keir Starmer doesn't seem to have any hopes for education at all, writes Connor Bollins.

Even in death there is no dignity for Virginia Giuffre

Too much of the media coverage is still the narrative of the rich & powerful predatory perpetrators

Is it not possible to speak her name without those of her abusers?

WORLD-FIRST: Ground-breaking research published today in the Ornithologist Journal has, for the first time, translated common UK bird vocalisations into equivalent phrases in the human language.
