Thanks! That is one remarkable lineup, David Dortort wasn't messing around. And Felicia Farr is still with us!

Makes me want to look up which actresses were cast as the mothers of those very individualized actors. Also for me this hits differently bc I just yesterday watched the docu MY ARCHITECT, about how Louis Kahn courted 3 women & fathered 3 children, but all of them secretly from each other!

Call your House rep and say: “please vote no on HR 1897.” It may reach the floor by tomorrow.

The form of the headline suggests the answer must be no, or "we don't yet know" at best.

Trump avoided punishments for his post-2020 abuses, but many of his lawyers did not For the attorneys who helped fuel the president’s efforts to remain in office, the consequences have been severe. Take John Eastman, for example.

And they remain mystified as to why it's so hard for them to find real lawyers who will work for him...

Eastman: disbarred

Giuliani: disbarred

Chesebro: disbarred

Clark: facing possible disbarment

Ellis: law license suspended

A tweet from Representative Thomas Massie that reads:

I just viewed 2 Top Secret FISA docs.
1) FISA Court opinion that raises serious concerns about FBI implementation of FISA 702.
2) letter by Senator Wyden describing a secret government interpretation of FISA law.
The Constitution requires I vote No on FISA 702 reauthorization.

I sent a classified letter to House and Senate colleagues about a secret interpretation of surveillance law that every American should be concerned about.

Representative Massie is right. The Constitution requires EVERY member to vote against a clean reauthorization.

Basically she is saying "I needed an authority to explain this baffling moment when declaring a war wasn't automatically popular, and the only authority I could trust was a machine from rich people assembling sentences based on what you might want to hear."

Regardless of how much the music and cultural references are still around, if I talk now about my childhood in the 60s it's like adults talking to my earlier self about their childhoods a few years after McKinley was shot.

A Baltimore-based thread to explain one singular, overriding reason why American journalism is incapable of compassing and explaining the astonishing misrule and the implosion of all our governing norms. To wit:

Trump was elected to wipe the trauma of the first black president from American history, a task which included scrapping the nuclear deal that had the US in a much better strategic position than before this needless, unconstitutional war of choice against Iran

The rich register Ferraris and Porsches in Montana to avoid taxes. California is cracking down Luxury car buyers in California and other states wanting their fancy ride for less money are registering their vehicles in Montana, which has no sales or personal property tax.

If you drive a Ferrari you can afford to pay taxes and the expensive California registration. Source: I pay it and am somehow surviving.

The thing about rich people is how cheap they are.

We heard the same "not a suicide pact" language from Glenn Beck after 9/11, that's how scared he is. A little Constitution is maybe okay for Ron, but not when it's going to make things hard for him.
