Democrats' demand that Stephen Miller is fired as a condition of voting for ICE funding is one of the smartest moves they've made under Trump.
Miller is a loathsome figure who I imagine has rock-bottom likability numbers. Democrats should try to raise his public salience as often as possible.
To my colleagues in the Senate: Hold the line.
As FBI agents executed a court-authorized search warrant at an election facility in Fulton County, Georgia, Wednesday, lurking in the shadows of the operation was Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...
This isn't about "training issues." The murderer who executed Renee Good has been with ICE for 10 years, and according to DHS, the murderer who executed Alex Pretti has been there for 8 years.
These aren't "new recruits," or officers that can be "retrained." ICE can't be reformed. Abolish ICE.
Congrats to #GregBovino for finally getting cut down to size.

Real talk, the Knowledge Fight sub-series Formulaic Objections feels like a must-listen for any progressive or even moderate.
I don’t think I really understood the depth of just how insane the language and theatrics are. And listening to AJ have to eat shit on Sandy Hook was nice too.
“They don’t even know the name of the woman who died, and they are already branding her as a domestic terrorist.” - @smith.senate.gov rips Trump and Kristi Noem for their lies about ICE’s killing of Renee Nicole Good
Minnesota does not have a state law that requires law enforcement to wear body cameras. And there's no broad federal law that requires federal officers to wear them, there's also no federal law stating they're exempt. Minnesota should fix this asap.
Not a single person in this photo has one.
If some group doesn’t do an a cappella rendition of this, I’ll lose all faith in humanity.*
*lol as if this admin and late stage capitalism more broadly haven’t done that yearssss ago
More of this. Let the free market speak against a very not-free regime.
Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.
Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.
Tonight, the President of the United States has launched an unconstitutional war of aggression, dooming another generation to spill their blood for oil, and lay waste to a sovereign nation.
I demand that Congress exercise its power, halt this conflict, and impeach this war criminal president.
This is not hard. Artists are not responsible for ensuring the Kennedy Center remains relevant and successful. The center’s board is responsible for that, in a fiduciary way. All of this energy being directed at artists should be re-directed at the board.
Where have you been? We’re just getting warmed up. We’re ready to keep building a democracy that actually delivers for US. #vote #virginia #2025
The Blue Tsunami continues!!! 🌊🌊🌊
We're covering this on tomorrow's @dailybeanspod.com
Make a crowd
Get loud
They’re “projecting” decisions based on polling data that’s not actually Polling Data because it’s really just an internet gambler slush fund for the largest players to influence/gain from choices.
This is the most I’ve felt like I’m taking crazy pills in a long time. At least since yesterday.
Literally the wealthy are able to bet on the odds of whether they make the decisions they were already going to make…or a large influx of cash to “skew” the data if they were undecided (see also: Murkowski).
Oh and Turmp Jr is involved with both of the “predictive market” heavy hitters.
Garrison Davis is able to summarize far better than me, but this is a grift on so many levels: the gamification of political events, rampant insider trading by decision-makers, more fodder for “content,” making bribes circular, confusing (influencing) betting odds as polling data.
Horror show.
I don’t even know how to begin to address the harms that “predictive markets” (sports betting, but for political/market decisions) will wreak on our already-weakened democratic system.
You can’t bet on subjective actions that a single/set of decision-makers can change (maybe based on those bets).
Spotify’s founder, Daniel Ek, is another techno-fascist billionaire.
He’s invested in AI that specializes in war, surveillance and violence, so it’s no surprise he’s fine with running ICE ads on Spotify.
If you haven’t already, cancel your Spotify subscriptions. Let’s make them feel like Disney+.
@zohrankmamdani.bsky.social does such a fantastic job of redirecting back to his role as a single mayor of a single city instead of continuing to provide fodder for national division (despite @meetthepress.com continued attempts to bait him).
Kudos for keeping it local and not taking that bait.
Impeachment isn’t an option, it’s a necessity. I know firsthand the lengths Trump is willing to go in order to silence dissent.
Impeach, convict, remove. And if our current leaders won’t do it, they need to step aside for people who will: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jo54...
NEW: Louisiana’s governor eliminated parole for prisoners arrested after Aug. 1, 2024, and tightened eligibility rules for those arrested before.
Then he tossed those rules aside for one group: undocumented immigrants. Why? To have them deported.
Here are the most affected stations. Those in rural Alaska and near Native American tribal lands are lifelines, often carrying not only community news but emergency weather information thst literally saves lives.

Was thrilled to help consult for this fantastic John Oliver segment on the tragic plight of U.S. public media and why, if we hope to be a democracy, we still need public media for so many things that commercial media will never provide. Deserves a wide viewership. www.youtube.com/watch?v=yknM...
You know what pairs well with solidarity? SNACKS!
Thanks to all the allies who are keeping us fed on the picket line. Our spirits are high, and we're ready to keep escalating until we win a fair union contract & an end to union busting!
