Uh well usually people use the them "shrink" to refer to a psychiatrist. I'm a psychologist which is a little different (more academic / research focused)

Harmful bullshit propagated by bullshit artists, very gross stuff
Thanks I thought it was pretty cool 😎
Totally - I absolutely agree of course
Yes 100%, I got it for like 15 bucks. If I had this reserved at day 1 for 60 bucks I definitely would feel super disappointed and ripped off but at a lower price point I think it's definitely an interesting curiosity
Yeah it's very unlike 1 - The thing it seems to have most in common with the first game is having technical issues lmao
But it is pretty fun on its own merits and there's still some interesting stories happening
Like yes we have all probably known someone like that who is missing rent payments because they spent 700 bucks on cool shoes or whatever and I think that's exactly what makes the original meme so insidious
lmao yes I hate this meme, seems it really wormed its way into a lot of people's brains and led to this perception that poor people "deserve it" because they're "wasting money" on frivolous things
They've had other VtM games and I think they probably should've just called this something else and maybe they wouldn't have been burdened by those expectations, but I guess hindsight is always 20/20 lmao
Definitely curious to play more and see where it goes. I don't hate it but can absolutely see why reviews were pretty mixed because if you wanted something like the previous Bloodlines game you're probably gonna be really disappointed
I get the sense they wanted to do a more contained first person action game and I think they've developed some pretty fun mechanics around this - But it's just so wildly different from what people expected, and it's specifically the stuff from the previous game that feels like an afterthought
I got this one on a pretty deep discount via woot and I think it's still on there for like 14 bucks. I think it is actually pretty fun despite some flaws but I also am finding it pretty fascinating just to see where they landed after that famously brutal development behind the scenes
I'm finding the story pretty intriguing but yeah it all feels a little underbaked, especially the open world stuff. The performance is also spotty and I've had the game crash once already. It definitely shares the wonkiness with its predecessor lmao
The story is pretty intriguing, you play as an elder vampire but you've got this other vampire that you absorbed basically mysteriously stuck in your head, and you're trying to figure out why. This other vampire is playable in flashbacks and has a different ability set too
There's definitely some jank here, you sort of loosely lock onto enemies and can lose track of stuff and get disoriented especially with how quick you can zip around. There are also a few weird control quirks, but overall the combat feels pretty dynamic and fun
Finally, you can feed on enemies by hitting both L2 and R2 which will restore your health but leaves you vulnerable for a couple of seconds, so you don't wanna do it while you're totally surrounded
You can have up to 4 abilities equipped to a little radial menu and these are determined initially by the clan you pick, but it looks like you can master them all eventually and use whatever ability combo you want
R1 throws (quick) strikes which can be charged, and if you strike out of a dash you'll do a kick which will be different depending on the direction you dash. R2 is telekinesis which will pull enemies around to stagger them or grab weapons / items for you to throw at enemies
These are usually combat encounters, and the combat is pretty but also pretty wonky. It's very fast paced for a first person game which is pretty interesting. You dash with L1 and have unlimited dash so you can zoom all over the place
There's this hub overworld that feels pretty small and half baked. They added some hidden marks to find and certain NPCs have specific blood types you need for certain upgrades but it mostly feels like a thing to stitch together the areas that act more like traditional levels
key arjt for vampire the masquerade bloodlines 2 featuring a red haired female vampire kinda curling her arms looking all vampiric with the fangs and all, and then there's a shadow of a detective guy behind her and a silhouette of the seattle skyline behind them
Ok so I played some of Bloodlines 2 tonight and as I expected it is a real fuckin weird one
It's not very much like the first Bloodlines game, and kinda reminds me of the 2 "The Darkness" games from a few years ago in terms of structure
reposting for 420 😎
ok folks I am celebrating 420 with a 420 FREDOSTREAM where I will check out the sure to be interesting vampire the masquerade bloodlines 2 on edibles, sure to be a fun time
