youtube commentary on AI is blowing up and that rules i love it lots of thoughtful discourse, but it frustrates me how much my primary problem with AI companies is never addressed? These are tech companies that would NOT EXIST without metric tonnes of uncompensated labor used without consent.

I am losing my mind. I've just started La Horde du Contrevent by Alain Damasio, it is so stupendously good I need to scream with other people about it, except it apparently only has been translated from french to italian

The upside of AI slop slowly rotting every corner of our entertainment is that it's making me reconsider with a kinder eye what I used to consider guilty pleasures: as cringe as some were, at least it was made with human hands and a human heart, and that makes them infinitely more essential
