Happy Earth Day.

I watched every episode from June 2023 to April 2024. One of the best television series of its kind.
Tim Cook donated $1M to Trump’s inauguration.
He fawned over Trump and gifted him a 24-karat gold plaque (as Apple lobbied for tariff exemptions).
Apple donated to Trump’s White House ballroom.
And it removed ICE tracking apps from its stores following a demand from the DOJ.
Remember this.
Just found it for the first time this month. Bummed that 530 Sansome will ruin it.
The AI lobby has entered our race to bankroll my opponent, Scott Wiener. That's because he worked with them to water down AI regulations in California. As his reward, he gets a huge super PAC.
Absolutely.
"These people are stealing your tax money, robbing you of services you paid for to enrich themselves. I will stop that."
That's a pretty simple and effective message.
Amazon, which saved $4B in taxes under Trump's Big Ugly Bill, has cut 30,000 jobs since last October.
Verizon, which saved $2B, plans to cut 15,000 jobs this year.
Meta, which saved $3B, plans to lay off 20% or more of its workforce.
Trickle-down economics is a cruel joke.
Only the New York Times, run by a fourth-generation nepo baby for an imagined audience of other elites with Roman numerals after their names, could treat such a small-bore common-sense tax proposal as the peak sign of a class war.
If this is the peak of the "anti-rich current," they'll be lucky.
It’s hard to express how important Iris was to ACT UP’s scientific development. She was the catalyst who started it all. Iris Long, Scientific Mentor to AIDS Activists, Dies at 92 www.nytimes.com/2026/04/17/h...
UNSUNG HERO: Iris Long was an unlikely AIDS activist. A married chemist from Queens, she barely knew any gay people. She joined ACT UP to use her expertise to fight for treatments. May her memory be a blessing.
By Richard Sandomir, w/ a small assist from me.

I do not want to create an account or open a subscription I just want to buy a thing and never hear from you again why is this so hard.
i feel like a lesson from the economy these days is that you can just say things and then you will make money
I didn’t know this, did you? Amazing!
People will be closely studying how Hungary's opposition pulled off their win in such a pro-incumbent system. Important to note that the theme was corruption. Democrats need to get much better at calling out Trump's corruption.
Israel has been committing a genocide in Gaza and is now committing ethnic cleansing in Lebanon. Ending funding isn't enough — we need sanctions.
In 1953 Iran had a functioning democracy. A free press. Seven political parties. Women in universities. Women granted voting rights in municipal councils in 1952. A secular prime minister named Mosaddegh who believed Iran's oil belonged to Iran. The US and Britain decided he had to go.
BTW the people who spent the last few years advocating for Palestine were clearly 100% right that normalizing war crimes and genocide there would just increase the likelihood of inhumane actions elsewhere. Just saying.

Sorry I’ve trademarked “bean salad “ so you need to call it something else
9/11 was carried out by 19 men. Fifteen were Saudi nationals. We responded by spending 25 years bombing Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Somalia and now Iran. Nearly a million dead. $5.8 trillion spent. Bin Laden said bleed America through endless war. We wrote him the check.
Meanwhile Prof Tim Snyder is also issuing warnings about the same.
There is no excuse for downplaying or eliding the insanity of Trump’s morning post. It is the most unhinged public comment by a president in US history and should be reported and remarked upon as such.
Actually we should just give citizenship to every undocumented person in the United States who wants it. Walking over an imaginary line isn't some great moral atrocity. Making people live in the shadows as a permanent underclass absolutely IS.
This is who we’re funding. They’re popping champagne because they’ve given themselves free rein to murder Palestinian detainees in a system with a 96% conviction rate.
We must end all funding to Israel and we must do everything we can to stop this genocide.
This is the question I wake up with and go to bed with every day and the rest of my real life is just a deserpate and failing attempt to avoid the question, since I have no answer for it.

It may be silly, but why is it a problem?
The marches had no shortage of skeptics. In Oxford, Miss,, Cass Rutledge, a first-year law student at the University of Mississippi, walked through the No Kings protest and around the town square on Saturday and questioned why people thought Mr. Trump was acting like a king. "He is, you know, a duly elected president who won the popular vote and the electoral college in a landslide," Mr. Rutledge said. "And so I'm a little bit confused on how he's acting differently than any other president." He pointed to the stalemate in Congress over the SAVE America Act, the Republican-driven bill to tighten voter identification and registration rules, which Democrats have called an attempt to suppress turnout based on false claims of voting fraud. Mr. Rutledge said that Mr. Trump was "going through the process" to try to get the legislation passed.

The NYT says today’s #NoKings protests had “no shortage of skeptics,” and then quoted exactly one of those skeptics: The chairman of the Ole Miss College Republicans (as of 2025.)
But of course, the Times doesn’t ID him as such. He’s just a Concerned Youth.
A few months ago, Madrid had us leave the airplane down a ramp which ended at a locked gate which airport security refused to unlock. Eventually - much later - we had to walk back through the airplane and exit through another jetway. One of my worst airport experiences ever!
ICE officers getting paid for standing around doing nothing while TSA employees work without pay is a pretty succinct summation of where we're at right now
Trump: I’m going to put ICE in the airports, where they will target and arrest all the illegals, especially Somalis, because I hate the Democrats
Headlines: Trump puts ICE officers in airports to ease long lines, provide relief for weary travelers
