Many of the issues I see in 'AI-ready data' are already present in 'FAIR data' - basically this assumption that just because datasets are out there does not mean NEW hypotheses can be generated/tested without careful understanding of context.
As an open science/computational biologist, I see this a lot - people (a) expecting computational work to be cheaper because it can just use existing data that's already been generated and (b) interest groups wanting results from data without any clear hypothesis to test.
This hit last election season, I feel like it was widely advertised in Washington state, where we have ballot drop boxes as well as mail in.
