Elon: Look I made a Murderbot from the popular book series “Almost all Murderbots are Bad”

Yes this is the crux of it and it’s so fucking funny. Like he just blundered into a great statement piece and then not knowing what he’s got then uses it to make a stupid statement. Thanks for making my morning!
Close-up of a wide mug made of black porcelain with a pink liner glaze and white handle
Still slowly working on my red glaze formulation. This pink has a really nice glaze surface and the color looks kick-ass over the black porcelain. I think I will keep this formula too while I continue to try for a redder version. Insert "the real glazes are the ones we find along the way" joke?
This brings up an interesting observation: we use all manner of paint brushes in pottery but not a single one of the other painting tools. I wonder why?
Several wide soup mugs arranged on a canvas-covered table. The mugs are made from a charcoal colored clay with white handles. The mugs have a slash carved in the side which has been filled with white slip and scarped back to flush with the side of the mugs.

A black porcelain espresso mug with a white handle sits in the foreground. A pattern of 4 dots are sunk into the front similar to the 4 on a dice. In the background are several other such mugs with different die faces.
Next set of espresso mugs on the way. I decided to do a dice theme for the decoration. This is what they look like before I inlay white slip into the dots.

In the midst of all my failed glaze experiments this year, I did make a new turquoise glaze. This is the same formula as my blue glaze but with half of the cobalt swapped for chromium. I think it preserves the character of this glaze while adding another dimension.

How is this different from Disney giving up rights to their IP? AI creations can’t be copyrighted so if someone uses Sora to make a Star Wars short that goes viral, Disney can’t do anything about it right?
Finish sanding using my new Quark wheel and Diamond core sandpaper. Exterior of the piece is fully vitrified (0%) absorption unglazed porcelain. The sanded finish is a unique tactile experience.

A tiny shallow bowl made from black porcelain, sanded on the outside to a smooth finish. The bowl has a pedestal foot the flairs out slightly at the bottom.
The same bowl as the first image. This picture shows the side profile so the flared foot is more visible.
My first attempt at a saké sipper / ring bowl shape. I’m trimming the foot is surprisingly the hardest part since the inside is smaller than my smallest trimming tool.

Since this piece is intended for baking I do not do any inlay as the dissimilar expansion between inlay and body could cause cracking with repeated temperature cycles.
A conical lidded vessel made from black porcelain with a sanded unglazed finish. Blue glaze accents on the top of the lid and around the rim of the base. A spiral of vent holes adorns the side of the lid cone.
The same lidded vessel with the lid partially removed and tilted back revealing the blue glazed interior of the base.
Overhead view showing the blue glazed interior.
New garlic roaster design. This one is more angular to match my other pieces, and has a more abstract arrangement of the steam vents in the lid. The step in the base serves as a handle allowing the piece to be lifted while wearing oven mitts.
What do you mean? “Let this sink in” was peak comedy. Peak. Comedy.
I had to double check who posted his because I thought for sure it was @theonion.com
Do I change out of my PJ’s and put on sweatpants for Lowes? Yes.
This happened to me except it was my own nostril
This is giving me anxiety. Good luck!
A wooden table covered in various pottery pieces all made from black porcelain with white accents and blue glaze on the inside. Mugs, cups, shot glasses, pour-overs, saké sippers
Last two kind firings lined up my workbench. My glaze experiments did not work but everything else turned out good. Now I just have to sand. All. Of. It. 😫

It worked for me on porcelain slip, probably because I didn’t know it wasn’t supposed to work lmao. I used coffee as the diffusion liquid.
A wooden table with various bisqueware bowls, mugs, and pour-overs with blue painters tape around the rims and on handles.
Close up of a mug with painter’s tape around the handle to create a line when glaze is applied between the handle and body.

Close up of mug with taped handle after fully removed showing the finished glaze application on the handle with a clean line where the glaze stops abruptly along the handle where it joins the body
I use tape to get clean glaze lines around rims and handles. It also serves as a spout to pour excess glaze back into the bucket.

Three coffe mugs sit on a damp concrete floor. One finished mug half full of coffee and two mugs at bisque stage with a wet sanding pad hanging from the lip of the left one.
Sometimes I drink coffee while sanding pots but I have to be careful not to drink a cup full of sanding sludge by accident
I’m all set up at the Milford Art Affaire on Main Street. We’ll be here all day with almost 150 artists. If you’re looking for something to do in the Cincinnati area today then come check it out!
Here are some progress pics of my new garlic roaster design. See the finished pieces in person this Saturday at the Milford Art Affaire. As usual these are made from Blackice porcelain.

That’s what I was thinking too. Scammer is using the photoshopped pic that makes him look almost normal.
The bottom one is nice looking and actually more vibrant than I need so I’m going to blend it down and hopefully find a concentration that looks good and doesn’t pinhole.

Continuing the glaze experiments: here are the two new bases on the left with added stain and zircopax on the right. Sadly both still pinhole.
The top one I am concerned that the extra cloudiness is un-melted alumina hydrate which means it’s chemistry is not what it should be so it’s out.
Three black porcelain garlic roasters are drying on a metal shelf. Each garlic roaster resembles a lava lamp with the main conical section as the lid which rests in a gallery at rim of the base. The base is a cylinder which flares out at the top to accept the lid.
Trying out a new garlic roaster shape. This one is more angular in keeping with the rest of my work, but pays homage to my original design.
I throw this in 3 pieces: the base, the main body of the lid, and the top handle.

Two black porcelain test tiles sit on a table. The first one has a slightly blue tinted glossy glaze, the second one has a cloudy white glaze.
Continuing the glaze tests, these are two alternate bases that I will try to use with the red encapsulated stain from my previous experiment. These are reformulated for lower LOI and potentially higher movement to help with the pinholing from the stain.
I accidentally read them in reverse order and had he opposite reaction: “Why is <character> so mean?! … oh that’s why”
