Best use of a kettlebell I’ve seen in awhile! 😁

Almost done. Border, cut off loom, sew in ends, etc but I think the pattern came out way better with reversing the colors and making the figure white. Pops more.

Couldn’t resist reading The Flying Eyes by J Hunter Holly, simply based on the title. Aside from the aliens being flying eyes, it was surprisingly good. Science was involved which is to my liking, a decent story line, satisfying conclusion. 4.5 stars

I use it, never had an issue.

Now that it’s done, he changed his mind and said it looks like a penguin. It does! And once you see it, you can’t unsee it! 😂

I redrew the pattern and am starting on attempt #2. It’ll look a bit different. I like the black and white but I’m running out of black so going with red and white for the next one. It’s supposed to be a person with their arm up. One person’s perspective: “nice octopus.” 🤣

I figured out by the very end what I ought to have done but here’s my first attempt at this design.

Next, I’ll redraw the pattern to make it better suited for the warp width I have.

Now on to sewing in all the ends…

Modern take on a figure drawing for a weaving pattern done in black and white.

Beginning of weaving on figure. Frame loop, black 4-ply yarn warp.

Continued work in progress. A ¼ of the way done.

I’m really challenging myself with this one. I had to draw this out from a book, enlarge it then fill in the black parts. Now it’s on to the weaving. Lots of switching back and forth from black to white but thus far I’m happy with how it’s turning out.

I know it as “shading” in tapestry and I still don’t have the hang of it but need to since it’s relevant to some of the designs I want to do. Your pictures gave me a bit more clarity in how it’s properly done. I was not clasping and it was creating lots of spaces. Thanks!!!
