a tumblr post with a user named bvckbiter writing "is this character good or bad" "is this shop unproblematic or not" "is this arc deserving of redemption or not" girl... underneath it is a screenshot from the show shลgun of a character saying "i don't have time for this christian nonsense"
How I feel reading 99% of art and media critique these days
Screenshot from the video game Persona 4. In the halls of Yasogami High, the protagonist talks to a male student labeled "Stylish student". His dialogue window reads: "Hanging out with women, going on dates with them, that's fine. Killing them? Not so much."
happy international women's day
AI enthusiasts should really grapple with the fact that their fellow Americans would probably be a lot less mean to them on the Internet if our country actually had a semi-functional social safety net.
This isnโt just about my personal job. Iโm also afraid that if a lot of work can be done without humans, then the social contract that holds society together will be broken.
If you canโt work in exchange for the means to live, how do you acquire the means to live?
How much more evidence do we need? The ultra-rich and the governments supporting them will destroy everything for the sake of profit, power and pride. Nothing is precious to them - not human life, not the living world - except their own wealth and status. Our survival depends on resisting them.

generative AI has become widely available in the summer of 2022 and entered mainstream in 2023
people are working themselves up in a frenzy, convinced they're utterly helpless without software younger than still-fresh canned tuna. we have been making art for at least 50,000 years, get a grip

how would one get an invite to that discord ๐๐
bad people can and often do make good art. attacking the art as retroactively subpar to free yourself of moral dilemma and give yourself permission to not care means you're innately equating quality of art as representative of moral virtue (it's not) which is how you get purity culture
yess I want to know what you're studying in! :D
"Move fast and break things," say the people who, in an uncanny coincidence, are responsible for breaking the entire planet at a terrifying speed.
ocs are at their peak when you are having FUN and they're FOR YOU. i'm talking "this doesn't exist in media and i want it to" "i like this character trope/archetype" "i love these colours" "i love this style of fashion" "i love when pairings are like this" TAKE IT ALL AND PUT IT INTO A BLENDER
have you watched Midnight Mass? I haven't watched his other stuff but I really loved that one

hey remember when a bunch of middle-aged drunk korean lawmakers climbed the locked gates to the national assembly to hold an emergency session after the president gave illegal orders to the military, all of which ended with said president being sentenced to prison
call me crazy but it really feels like โWorldโs Richest Man Creates AI Chatbot That Generates Child Pornโ wouldโve been a huge international outrage requiring a governmental crackdown not even 24 months ago

All Things Motherhood ใป Join Jasmen Powell โข 6d โข 6 Hot take, but an honest one. I think Al is going to replace a big part of traditional photography, especially when it comes to family photos and kids. Not because photographers aren't talented. They are. But because for moms, convenience matters. A lot. Getting everyone dressed. Coordinating schedules. Making sure kids cooperate. Packing snacks. Leaving the house. Spending the money. Waiting for edits. That's work. With Al, moms don't have to stage a moment at all. No outfits. No schedules. No pressure. You can snap a quick photo, upload it, and generate what you want when it works for you. We all know the future is Al unless something massive shifts. It's already here. And I'm personally for Al when it comes to convenience. Especially for moms who are already doing everything. That doesn't mean photographers will disappear. There will always be space for in-person, documentary, milestone moments. But for everyday family photos, holiday cards, quick keepsakes, and busy seasons of motherhood, Al is accessible in a way traditional photography often isn't. And sometimes convenience matters more than tradition. That's not laziness. That's survival.
this is demonic. sorry to say but if you do this you should be shipped to a desert island away from the rest of us who still have human souls
i don't have the wine tasting gene. its all wasted grapes to me. you will decant a 1987 Bitte Sanguine and hand me a glass with a glint in your eye saying This has earthy and fruity tones with a slight beetrooce aftertaste, perfect for a beginner and i'll go hm! tastes yucky
I hate the online reaction cycle that praises a piece of art a lot and uses it as an example of whatโs good about the medium but then the moment it gets awards or enough acclaim or fandom, suddenly we have to talk about how itโs actually not really that good and itโs overrated and always sucked
