My kingdom for larger text options, please god.
Zero effort! And yet. ...and yet.
This reads more as a preference to me than essential design. Prereqs can serve immense mechanical benefit in a lot of ways, mainly guiding choice, gating power creep, and enforcing diversity.
So long as they aren't absurd and fit a mechanical or narrative benefit
Would be better*
It is mean, absolutely, but is more often than not met with people overinflating their positive reviews. People usually rate 4, 5, 1, or none at all.
The system would be if it were honest, amd we respected that honesty, but its a culture of extremes.
I'd be glad someone bought the game tbh.
We'll never stop loving our dragon baby, but *my god* the options
Breaking away from 5e is one of the most freeing TTRPG experiences~
startplaying.games/adventure/cm... Hello! I hope everybody is doing well this morning. I have put up my first adventure on @startplaying.bsky.social !! There is room for up to 5 people on this great onboarding adventure for fantasy ttrpgs! If you or any friends are interested, come take a look!
I realize I haven't posted about my TTRPG in a while.
So hey, if you like bugs, posthumanist themes and weird futures; check out Paratype! It was my first large scale TTRPG project and I had a lot of fun making it!

I have gotten several new followers (I think it's due to @bookspotlight.bsky.social's awesome Starter Pack). Let's all get to know each other better.
Name one book you've recently loved and one non-reading thing you enjoy!
I'm happy to get to know you lovely people!

Hahaha, yeah, I was dissuaded mostly by an epic fantasy character named "Kliff".
But yes! Graphics are great!
Tbh the only reason I think I'd play it now would be for research? And it's difficult justifying $70 for that. What I imagine the general experience to be is a lot of novelty for the first 40 hours that then just gets copy/pasted into the later half of the game.
Howdy #TTRPG sphere, I have very little reach here (alas, not being good at social media), and am looking to try and start building hype for the LORE Kickstarter (coming soon!), so anyone with podcast/news outlet/youtuber/friendly influencer suggestions would be immensely helpful.
When characters in a TTRPG make skill checks (in systems that do that) on tasks they are good at, GMs who are into it sometimes double dip for them - they offer better basic outcomes in *addition* to the numbers favouring the character.
This is not usually designed for.
Iiiiii love that so much I tried to codify into the mechanics of my game. Characters have a passive variable they can use when trained in a skill, so if you're good at something you just *do it*, so failure only manifests when something is hard enough to warrant effort~
Also degrees of failure~
Am i modelling an armour for reference again? Well, not an entire one...
I found a campfire studios on LinkedIn, but they were in LA. If they don't have a website or a linked presence I'd assume the worst.
Connection to fiction characters makes way more sense imo, they're designed with a voice and intent, and they actual *connect* with you on a human, emotional level.
AI shit and the alg is actively manipulating you to release oxytocin. That's just fucking dark. Get away, amen.
Mm, I'm not so sure, if our society works on the assumption of a particular schedule, surge pricing is most definitely designed to take advantage of the free time people have to run errands/eat/acquire things.
I know it's almost impossible to not be immoral these days, but this... doesn't try.
I think we're seeing this a lot more, that folks are basically raised on movies/tv and so that's the structure they've been taught.
3 Act is fine for film, but any other medium I think is begging for a more dynamic narrative.
A red haired woman holds her right hand in the sky as smoke pours from it in a spiral pattern. A person with shoulder length dark hair whose back is to the camera throws a fire at the red haired woman. The fire resembles an animal. Text reads Families and Thunderbolts
Three years ago today we released Scion: Families and Thunderbolts as part of our Storypath Tasty Bits program via our partners at DriveThruRPG offering a short scenario intended for Scion: Hero to bring a new ally into an existing Band’s fold. www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/4...
Dude, yeah. What the actual fuck is wrong with our culture that people feel like their recourse is a bunch of pixels and text.
Dating is hard, but holy shit.
HOW DARE, but also, yeah. Yeah.
After the *equity* disappears into the aether, maybe indie games create a niche market space? I don't know if there's a way to save traditional gaming other than asking everyone to take a pay cut.
That checks, it looked like I was posting a weird ass link to what was obviously an AI girlfriend app or something, which I think is maybe my new nightmare?
Ah, sorry I responded to this but there was a weird url attached to it? No idea what that was.
Anywho, hi! Happy to be back around to like stuff and rage at the manosphere, maybe lurk all the joyus nerdery again lol
...that's a good move, it's going to destroy your life for a bit.
A long bit.
Dude it's the best Pokémon game ever. Im sorry you had to wait so long D:
