“Research institutions are under pressure, and misinformation is not just spreading - it is being rewarded” (Scott Steen).
Despite this, I had some fun days at the #aps2025 by @aps
Also had the extra privilege to present my work at the conference 😊

Summary: Two plots, side by side, showing the number of active accounts and tweets over time gradually decreasing with a sudden sharp drop after Elon Musk took over Twitter. Long Text: Two sub-plots, side by side. For each the X-axis represents the date (starting smallest on left and increasing to the right). In the first plot, the y-axis represents number of accounts and in the second plot the y-axis represents number of Tweets. A red, vertical dashed line is annotated to indicate when Musk took over Twitter. The data reflects both the number of accounts and number of tweets reducing over time, but a significant sharp drop right after Musk took over.
A recent study reports a noticeable drop in both the number of accounts and tweets (and overall engagement) when it comes to academics communicating online post-Musk purchase.
