I can’t emphasize the importance of blood donations enough and my family’s living proof. 10 years ago my father was diagnosed with myelodysplastic anemia, a condition where your body no longer produces red blood cells.

I echo Gov. Shapiro’s words of appreciation for first responders. These workers prioritize the safety of those around them in times of crisis, and I’m making a point in return to prioritize measures that will better support *them,* from higher wages to better access to mental health care.

I had an opportunity to attend a roundtable discussion at Riddle Hospital. Along with members of the Delco County State House & Senate Delegations, I was able to present the hospital with $4 million in state grant money that they will use to hire more staff and bring in more equipment and resources.

After losing 2 hospitals this past spring, our community has been living with real worry about access to healthcare, especially in emergencies. This funding won’t solve every challenge, but it *will* give these hospitals a little breathing room as they work to meet demand.
