Celebrating the cosmic symmetry that produced news of The Onion finally actually for-real taking over Infowars on today's very particular date, and it sounds almost exactly like this:

Update: I caught the last screening yesterday morning and it was perhaps the single greatest, most profound and awe-inspiring theatrical experience of my life. A wonder.

It’s a telling indicator of media desensitization that the US government’s ongoing program of murder on the high seas—which according to the perpetrators has killed fourteen (14) people this week— is no longer a subject for much serious or sustained news coverage.

Strike number 54 in Somalia of 2026 announced via press release (year’s total here is by count of confirmed strikes not by AFRICOM confirmation of the total so could be more unannounced).

--Ms. Miller says defense lawyers and the judge have learned late, from prosecutors, that hearsay evidence from a former prisoner that could help their case was “torture borne,” unlawful to use.
Capt. Stinson, prosecutor: We’ll stipulate that the witness would have said the same things in court.

It's the 7th month of the US bombing random ships in Latin American waters they claim are drug smugglers (reminder that two survivors who were rescued were repatriated, not charged), and the death toll is 150+, and it barely gets discussed.

Vote preferences "are driven more by opposition to the GOP rather than enthusiasm for the Democrats."

Dems "are 17 points likelier than those aligned with the GOP to describe themselves as extremely motivated to vote even as they’re 14 points less likely to hold a favorable view of their own party"

A new CNN poll reveals how people mad at both parties see the midterms | CNN Politics Americans’ views of both the Democratic and Republican parties remain deeply negative, according to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS. And in an election year that may turn on which party voters see as the lesser of two evils, the Democrats hold an early advantage.

"Just 28% of Americans hold a favorable view of the Democratic Party, with the Republican Party a few points higher at 32%."

The fact that nobody seriously believes there is an institution in this country that will check the president—that we’re all just sitting here hoping that he gets distracted and fails to follow through on his genocidal threats—is the most damning indictment of our political system I’ve seen yet.

It's a great platform, such a cool mix of high- and lowbrow movies available without commercials and all free of charge with a simple library card -- I just watched Umberto Lenzi's "Nightmare Beach" on Kanopy last night and had a blast

Divisions emerge in right-wing media as Iran war stirs anxiety about food production, fertilizer

I wrote about how the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran is threatening a global food crisis, which is driving divisions in right-wing media. Many conservative pundits are using fertilizer shortages to call for escalation, & some are saying this proves the war was a bad idea from the outset.

There's not a single bad track in those first three albums, truly an incredibly accomplishment and I still listen to them all the time. Though "Police on My Back" from "Sandinista!" is my go-to jukebox play these days.

The illegal alien is a line-jumper and a violator of sovereign borders, a thief of both time and space, and generally speaking a thief may pass no valid title to stolen goods. Of course the child of an illegal alien is innocent of any personal wrongdoing, but the problem is that the parents lack the kind of lawful status that could ground transmission to their descendants of the citizenship, and the share of sovereignty, to which the parents are not themselves entitled. Our law, interpreted in this way, would merely deny to the illegal alien, a violator of the republic's laws, the ability to pass on to their children the fruits of the parents' own wrongdoing, the crucial ability to vest a share of republican sovereignty in their
own descendants. A mild remedy indeed.

Well, that’s the most repulsive thing I’ve read in a minute. I suppose I appreciate Adrian’s candor in saying all of this out loud.

"What if We Didn't Suck?" Kat Abughazaleh lost. What she built is what the Democratic Party is missing.

My newsletter today is about @katmabu.bsky.social's campaign.

Democrats keep asking how to reach voters who've given up on the party. Kat Abughazaleh spent a year trying to answer that question. She lost, but the answer is still right. www.readtpa.com/p/what-if-we...

Alex Jones: Infowars will be shutting down in “the middle of next month”

On Tim Pool's show, Jones slurred his way through the announcement before leaving early; Pool later said Jones had "a very serious medical issue"

At least one panelist mentioned they could "smell" the alcohol on Jones
