The measure of productivity is output, not activity. Is your employee getting their work done? Yes? Then it doesn't matter how active or inactive they are.

Reminder that there's never a reason to use employee monitoring software. IT is not an acceptable solution to a HR problem - if you're a manager facing a performance problem, do your job and manage it. Spying on staff creates an environment of distrust, and distrust /always/ undermines productivity.
Hey brands, come listen for a second. I get why you stayed on Twitter - you were pretending to be neutral, 'above' the politics.
You can't do that any more. The fence you sat on is gone. You stay there, you've picked a side, and it's the side of the guy doing Nazi salutes at the inauguration.
Granted I haven't seen a lot of David Lynch's works, but I have seen Dune and I have seen Twin Peaks and they were both delightfully strange. Maybe it's time to catch up on the rest of his stuff. Rest in peace, David.
Two videos are enough to post a playlist, right? Well it is now! Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, now streaming on Xulflix. New episodes on Saturdays at 5pm ACDT (6:30am UTC, 1:30am EST) www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...
You gave an answer about your specific circumstances, but tried to project it as applying to the majority. I just don't think it holds up in those circumstances. As for fighting, getting away from them might work better if you don't try to start them in the first place.
Nobody here attributed it to arrogance; and it's not assumption, it's hypothesis based on observation. Your suggestion that people don't want to be doxxed doesn't explain the wide gap between US and non-US streamers mentioning their country. So what alternative hypothesis do you have?
I answered that elsewhere in the thread - it's useful to help attract local viewers, it sets better expectations about active times, and it helps avoid repeated questions about where my accent is from. Just because you don't find it useful doesn't mean it isn't useful.
"Most people don't think about it" is proving the point, though. Most Americans don't think about it, but a higher proportion of non-Americans do think about it. If there's a difference like that along national lines, it's not unreasonable to look at cultural reasons.
I do think it's about assumed defaults. Non-US streamers I know mention it to attract local viewers, and to avoid answering "where are you from" every 10 minutes because someone noticed the accent. On the whole, the rest of the world knows the US accent better than US people know non-US accents.
I haven't marketed myself yet, but I'm doing live streams on Youtube on Saturdays at 5pm ACST (7:30am UTC, 12:30am EST), which is basically impossible for most non-Australians to get to, but you're welcome anyway! Current series is Star Wars Outlaws, playlist here: www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...
Khajiit has arts if you have coin!
Twitter will never be X in the vernacular, but why not take it further and swap all his Xs for Twitters? SpaceTwitter launching rockets, TwitterAI making bad chatbots, and the Tesla Model Twitter defectively roaming the streets.
Possibly one of the worst decisions I've seen a game tech company make. Charging developers per-install and for demos, forcing spyware into games to track installs in the first place. Insane.
If your Unity game project is still early in development, seriously consider switching to another engine.
Happy 30th anniversary to the XFiles
You know when I finally get on the service, it's jumped the shark. Hi everyone! 😁
