This is a detailed family tree infographic titled "Aiel Kinship Family Tree" from the Wheel of Time series. At the center is "You" with connections to "Husband", "Son", and "Daughter". Above you are two “Mothers” (one biological, one adoptive/co-wife) and one “Father”. Siblings appear beside you, including “First-sister” (a full sister or a culturally bonded friend) and “First-brother” (half-brother). “Sister-wife” is a co-wife and near-sister. Below your children are “Greatdaughter” and “Greatson”. The tree extends up to four grandparents (colored orange and blue for maternal and paternal). To the left and right are aunts, uncles, and cousins: maternal relatives use terms like “Sister-mother” and “Second-brother”; paternal ones use “Father-sister” and “Brother-father”. Each box is color-coded by relationship type with seven different degrees of relationship rank and another for spousal relations. The left panel explains Aiel kinship: terms can include adoptive ties, co-wives, and strong non-blood relationships. The right panel defines “near-sisters” and “spear-sisters” as women with deep bonds equal to or greater than blood ties. These relationships are critical in Aiel society and affect social behavior and warfare. The bottom notes clarify how terms like “Second-mother” or “Brother-father” relate to co-parenting, step-relations, and Aiel customs. Many terms are culturally defined, not purely biological. This chart uses arrows and family logic to illustrate Aiel social structure—blending blood, marriage, and chosen bonds into a complex but organized kinship system.
Sharing this infographic of Aiel kinship term. I am in the process of making a wiki page with all this information in more detail with clear examples. If details are not appearing well, download from the link below:

(2/2) Although it's not like the numbers are anything to be sniffed at. Slow turnaround and the expense just made everything so much harder. It's still the best fantasy show made in the last 5-10 years. That I can think of!
(1/2) Largely, I think it's the pandemic and the knock-on effect of Barney leaving. A super strong finale would have retained much more of an audience among book fans and casual viewers. It's uphill from that point as it missed out on it's full potential.
(2/2) I think it's fairer to say more people don't understand change from source material, no matter the reason. Queerness is not as present on screen in fantasy, but that's maybe just because they need to start with IPs that are more inclusive to begin with. It's less of a problem in other genres.
(1/2) RoP has diverse casting, but not queerness. Personally, I support a showrunner's right to artistic expression and including their own values into the show. People who can't understand that don't understand the performing arts. But that's a lot of people.
I read "Rick and Morty" for a second. I don't think representation was a factor in cancellation. It's likely purely that it wasn't getting enough return on investment. Cynically, perhaps diversity isn't selling as much any more, for a variety of reasons.
This is, however, my area of expertise!! 😃
I agree, but you tagged me instead of the show. I'm hopefully not cancelled yet! But yeah, it's a tragedy on every level for everyone involved and the Wheel of Time fandom.
Hello! I'm not so active on social media lately, but I'm on discord frequently!
Hey #WoTskies! I think I found the inspiration for Elayne's musical number in #TheWheelOfTime S3E6! The song is very on theme too... 😂

A hood of hair. Are the showrunners trolling us?
Description as in main post. The Sharom floats in a blue sky high above the university. The university is surrounded by lush parks and gardens. In front is a long rectangular lake and a second, circular lake closer to the viewer. Painting done by u/aeddub on Reddit also found in Instagram as wot.fanart.
The same as main post. The buildings are more obscured by the shape of the landscape. In the distance are low, dark hills and there are forests on the left and right edges. In the foreground, figures in farm clothes and large hats harvest wheat by hand using scythes.
The Sharom was a 1000ft floating sphere that was a One Power research facility. It floated without aid of the One Power above the white buildings of the Collam Daan university with their blue and silver domes.

Screenshot of Sevanna in The Wheel of Time. She wears many large elaborate necklaces and on her head is either the most flamboyant, huge, woven hat or a hairstyle that might have taken days to create.

Sammael from Wheel of time tv show. He has an unhappy or angry face and a large scar across it diagonally
Made this meme of Sammael showing "a face like a skelped erse", as they say. Fun fact, the actor is born in Partick, Glasgow, about a mile away from where I live now! 🏴 A "pure Weegie"! 💙

The Black Ajah form in the middle of the Main Hall of The White Tower, unleashing a 360 degree One Power assault on the Sitters of the Hall with Air Blades and Fireballs. Liandrin floats above them, engulfed in Siuan Sanche's Fire and Air Cage weave. Threads of One Power flow around them all.
WOT S3 Channeling - A Thread (literally)
1/ Developing the 'Channeling' was an important aim for us in S3, a magic system so unique and specific to the show. Improving it was one of our main objectives since joining the show during S2.

Although, I just about perished waiting for the quarterstaff fight, I think the build up to that moment was perfect 👌 1/4
*looks at title* But there are Darkfriends and witches everywhere, right? 🔥
More sophisticated than The Witcher, more thrilling than The Rings Of Power, and more distinctive than House Of The Dragon, it's hard to imagine a better version of Robert Jordan's epic book saga — a series once deemed unfilmable. @empiremagazine.bsky.social ❤️
