One of the best things about Highlander (1986) is its transitions, which are overlaid on other images and scenes. Thankfully, they are not the ugly Star Wars type of transitions.
I wonder whose idea it was: the screenwriter's, the director's, or the editor's 👀

Tom Hardy and Matthias Schoenaerts have been playing the same role for years. They are obsessed with a certain kind of masculinity, that of a noble brute or a tender beast

at least Gareth Evans is not making The Raid 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9...
and I don't know why, but for me Tom Hardy is like a queer Charles Bronson

Needless to say, I’m very sad about his death. David Lynch, Gene Hackman and now Val Kilmer. This year has been brutal.

When I rewatched Heat a couple of years ago I was very invested in Kilmer’s and Judd’s storyline. The scene where Charlene beckons for Chris to leave with a motion of her hand under the watchful glare of the cops is so good. And “For me the sun rises and sets with her, man” is a hall of fame line.

There are many times when I would like to read more of the locals' opinions about a particular movie - I wish Letterboxd had a filter like this and a button to translate it

I love watching movies. Very few things I love more than watching movies. But choosing what movie to watch? WOATed activity. Bottom of the barrel use of leisure time
