One time I got hungry in the middle of the night, was eating cold pizza, and accidentally tossed my phone into our recycling can along with the empty pizza box πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ’€

Exactly this

To imply autistic people should be able to just figure out social cues if you are curious enough is extremely insulting

I don't blame you. I saw some other posts that I was raising my eye brows at.

Right?? Agreed!

Precisely.

I am really curious if they're autistic. Because even if they were, that's still insensitive af to other autistic people.

A screenshot of a bluesky post from "ratlimit" that says:
i don't understand autistic people who over-identify with "having a hard time with social cues". it's actually extremely possible to master the unwritten rules of communication analyticallyβ€”you just need to be curious.

I (Soulfully Neurodivergent) shared and quoted:
It's important to keep in mind here that we aren't a monolith. Some autistic people may be able to master that and some of us may not."

So I ultimately ended up blocking this account because that post really bothered me

It is just insensitive and ick to me

Being curious enough is not gonna just magically make my brain or other autistic people understand social cues

There's a mark on the wall from when IT happened

every time I see it, it mocks me, a painful reminder

I am all for letting all the emotions out to process them, but I'm not even sure how to begin processing the events of the past couple of weeks

Messages I received from Norse goddess Freya in my dreams last night:

1. If someone is trying to pressure you into something, you don't have to go along with it.

2. Don't let other people get away with treating you bad. You can cut them off. You can minimize contact.

Something we can agree on, lol

When someone compares you saying "the christians" to Trump saying "the blacks"

One is very dehumanizing referring to a whole race as blacks

The other, in this context, is making a general statement about so many christians using their religion to be bigots

But sure, they're the same thing

If people seriously can't understand why others would be doubting that Christians support DEI, given how many of them have used their religion to be a bigot, tbh, wake the fk up

I understand not ALL Christians are that way, but enough of them are to feel a discomfort around them in general

Autistic myself and I don't agree with it tbh. I just feel it has caused far too much harm. But I am only one person that can only speak for themselves.

Definitely! I don't identify as a woman though. I'm nonbinary.

Do they think*

Also sorry to hear you're sick and I hope you feel better soon

1 year ago 2 0 1 0

I wonder if it's because people are just so used to saying that as a default response to anything? Or do you they think you're not "really sick" and just don't wanna come in? (Not saying that's what is happening! I agree people are freaking weird.)

I'm sorry you had to deal with that.

I just had a major medical emergency happen in my family and have only just now had any time to process it

But I feel like as soon as I allow myself the time and space to write about it, think about it etc. All of the thoughts and emotions are just gonna come pouring out with no sign of stopping

Vaccines don’t cause autism.

Vaccines aren’t even associated with autism.

The biggest predictor of autism?
GENETICS.

We have decades of data and millions of data points that to show this.

This lie insults people with autism too β€” as if it’s an β€œadverse effect” of medicine.
