I think i recieved my favorite note: "i think your screenplay is too long for a short film and too short for a feature film".

Me: because it's a tv pilot

The rest of the notes i got were amazing tho

i'm going to put this out into the world, if anyone is looking for/or knows someone who is looking
for a screeenwriter in Toronto, I have around 10 pilots written ranging from comedies, horror and sci-fi, i've been perfecting my art for around 5ish years and ready to work

Does anyone else notice a trend of putting a huge ass watermark in the background of a script with the author's name on it?? I get that you don't want people to steal your work but it's a bit tacky

Alan Moore once said one of the biggest inspirations for writers can be viewing something that is absolutely horrible and going "wow, i can do better then that"

How I arrived on Bluesky

1 month ago 1 0 0 0

i love how everytime i've been reading a script labelled as a comedy i see literally 1 joke in 28 pages and it's like ??????

you know you need to actually write jokes for it to be a comedy write(also strangely, the story is always extremely well written otherwise)

what's the longest you initally worked on completing the first draft of a new script? For me strangely enough it's been about a month and i still have to fill out two scenes worth of dialogue

I realized one of the most important thing in film making is intention, what are you trying to convey or get out of the scene for the story, what does what we seen mean for the bigger picture

Honestly, I've been putting a lot of work into my writing and I finally feel like it's paying off!

I think after a couple more tweaks, I'll apply to some agencies in my city this year! Wooooo
