Abolish Rent!
Tone was one of those things I'd point to when I'd talk about Madison and say "it's a city that punches way above its weight class" a real Lion of a publication that made me proud to live there. Scott created a small miracle that defined the kind of character Madison has at its best.
i think joanna was right af when she said love is not a symptom of time, time is just a symptom of love
Poetry - Chapbook - Alternatives for Succulents: Poems by John Paul Martinez
Local tender nature poetry 🌵🍁
I’ve emailed before, and they said no, but I’ll email again today :)
Lit Mag - PINKO Issue 4 Nov. 2025
First time I’ve gotten pinko :)! I loved the interview with the Furry Hacker, the discussion between Emma Heaney and Sophie Lewis on Cis Woman masculinity, and Radicalqueens Manifesto. Overall I’m so impressed by the content, curation, and design :).
Fiction - Novel - Hemlock by Melissa Faliveno ⭐️⭐️⭐️
A Butch bi alcoholic’s relapse in the North Woods that turns haunted.
A tedious book to some extent, with not much plot. I liked the descriptions of the landscapes, but I didn’t feel emotionally invested in her fucking up her life. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Memoir - One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This by Omar El Akkad
A well reported book on Palestine, a severe crique of liberals, a personal memoir of being Muslim in America. I read this with The Abolitionist Book Club at work.
Fiction - Novel - Stay and Fight by Madeline Ffitch ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Is it communalism or is it community adverse rugged individualism. Three women fuck up a kid named Perley in an off grid shack. Such a juicy read, these people are unwell.
Poetry collection - Glove Money by Sophia Dahlin ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Self aware poetry of the sapphic lover 💗
All books finished in 2026 - thread ☝️🤓
Lmao
I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.
hate being in the weeks where decades happen
Short thread 🧵
1/ In Florida (and nationwide) under Trump's 2nd admin, ICE has expanded its use of "detainers," the controversial and longstanding practice of holding people in jail -- many on minor charges -- past their release date to turn them over to ICE custody for possible deportation.
Rest in power, Assata Shakur.
