Yeah my sort of litmus test for this was finding douser gameplay which worked but I couldn't find many vods or any zones gameplay since no one plays the thing but there's some stuff out there. At the very least most people should find gameplay better than theirs.

If you want to find vods for any weapon in the game you can go to the weapon's wiki page, copy the jp name of the weapon, then go to youtube and paste it next to the number 3000 and you will definitely find gameplay of it from someone who is better than you. Doesn't work on twitch

Formatting written educational stuff like this is kinda hard but here’s something maybe educational for people #CompSplatoon

Curious to hear what others have to say about this

I try to go in with the mindset that I'll win if I carry hard enough even if the comp sucks or my teammates feed. Basically I just ignore them and try to focus on winning

don't have much experience with other rollers but the mu for carbon is basically unwinnable if you're marked, would much rather fight a vds

If people on my team are passively painting the map the best I can hope to do is sit around hoping the enemy team goes for someone carelessly and I can punish them before my teammate explodes since they have nothing better to do than to look for kills. If I really need more paint then I'll say so.

Not sure how much other carbons would I agree but I would prefer to have a shot on my team that consistently takes good fights than one that sits back and "gets me in", in neutral situations there will always be opportunities to get in if it's a 4v3.

I don't think you understand weapon roles...

I don't understand why mid to high level teams have low level coaches. It doesn't take much to break out of low level so if your way of seeing the game hasn't gotten you out of there I don't think it'll be of much use to me

My own personal server maintenance, thanks Nintendo

I agree with echo this seems like level up's niche and I don't think it'll have great turnout since the mid level player base is a lot smaller compared to low level.
Ig it's worth a shot tho it just depends on if people show up or not.

I think this is probably too slow and there are too many factors that you miss. ie: the enemy team gives up a key position, leaves the objective vulnerable, your teammate(s) are in strong positions, etc.
Good to have concrete reasons to make plays but not at the expense of efficiency.

It isn't that it's viable, it literally gives the team that gets the first real lead an unfair advantage in being able to stall the game until it ends. It isn't just that it's boring to play and watch (which it is).

maybe we take it as a sign that the next game will come out relatively quickly after switch 2 releases copium?

So if I have zooka and want to kill a crab am I supposed to be aiming at the ground behind the crab so that the splash radius kills it or am I supposed to just aim it straight at the crab's face and hope all the shots connect?

ngl I think feelings are completely irrelevant so idk why people keep bringing them up, the fact is that stalling is lame and the bad modes encourage and reward it while zones doesn't. Reef cheesing the zone without retaking properly does not win games unlike stalling the rainmaker in some bs spot.

1 year ago 0 0 1 0

I didn't mean to sound dismissive, but it's like you can make the argument all day long that it's possible to win against people who are stalling but the point is that what tends to happen is that the team that gets the first push has a huge and unfair advantage

1 year ago 0 0 1 0

for the defending team to retake if the enemy is stalling in court, they have high ground advantage, they have passive special charge, and even if they do mess up they still have two more fights they only have to not lose to keep the lead. It sucks far worse

1 year ago 0 0 0 0

every mode but zones. The maps are worse in the other modes because they don't do anything to limit the inherent flaws in the modes, not necessarily because the designs are less fun or something. I would much rather play scorch zones than the stallfest on rm because it's virtually impossible

1 year ago 0 0 1 0

It's probably something you have to experience but no, it's much easier to hold space than it is to take it and tc and rm both incentivize getting a lead and sitting in easily defendable positions and leaving the objective in an annoying spot that's hard to get to. psa rewards playing lame on

Generally map design makes it really easy to stall the rainmaker or the tower in a super advantageous position that keeps the team that's already winning in advantage and will force the enemy to use up their resources more. It's not a skill thing it's just the maps and modes are poorly designed

1 year ago 0 0 0 0

It is most likely the case none of the teams you've played against have stalled properly

1 year ago 0 0 0 0

work to do before you can start going for a push of your own and by then you'll have maybe one chance. At least in zones the game is giving you the advantage to output more specials relative to your opponents and win the fight.

1 year ago 0 0 0 0

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but better players know how to stall in a way that all but guarantees keeping the advantage and the game incentivizes it by giving passive special charge to every player on the team that's stalling so even if you do break through you still have a lot of

1 year ago 0 0 1 0

you know I used to agree with this take and then I started playing teams that play the other modes properly and they really are just stalling. Like it really is easy to just get one push on rainmaker and then sit in most easily defendable part of the map until the enemy feeds and then do it again.
