You're legit reminding me of my goal to befriend the murder of crows that lives right outside my house.

I think he should have dislocated his elbow at some point? And I don't know anything about swordplay.

I also know you shouldn't hold a blade... like THAT *gestures wildly at whatever that is*

No one has to be skilled at everything, but rich people really excel at owning themselves online.

It's kind of wild that our whole democracy has been based on the honor system this whole time.

You may think: "Yeah, yeah. Haunted house story. Blah blah cosmic horror. Isn't it based on a video game?"

NO.

It is those things. But it will be those things in a completely different way than you're expecting.

I talked about this book with my therapist for twenty minutes today. That is all.

My sister in Christ, if they block you, it definitely says more about them than it does about you. You said it perfectly.

If you're witchy and/or into occultism and ALSO love horror, might I recommend Craig DiLouie's EPISODE THIRTEEN?

It's a great book on its merits, but it will hit different for an occultist, I promise. I've been spiraling for 24 hours, and I'm only 60% done.

I'd love to help, Inbee, but I haven't been on the D&D scene in ages! But I do play Pathfinder, and I do know that a couple of their Adventure Paths (notably Kingmaker, which is AMAZING) are available in a D&D 5E ruleset from Paizo.

I dunno, I happen to only be attracted to people with wit, empathy, emotional intelligence, and a sense of humor. Meanwhile, Katie, your husband appears to be a sentient turd with a god complex.

So I guess there's no accounting for taste.

Completely, completely agreed. It is completely good and normal that creators have full control over the art they create -- art of any kind. And while we are all entitled to our opinions, I wish people would stop conflating "this isn't for me" with "this is poor quality and they should be ashamed."

Thank you! I think this is something we can do at my house with a lot of the things we have extras of in our fridge. (Cleaning out your fridge as an ADHD person means that you find things like FOUR TUBS OF SOUR CREAM)

This looks DELICIOUS. Do you have a recipe to pass along, by any chance?

6 days ago 1 0 1 0

That small-of-the-back touch is hottttttt

6 days ago 2 0 1 0

I mean, honestly I could use some of these recipes. Ground beef is $9.89 a pound where I live, and a pound of chicken breasts is over $7. Soda 12-packs are $14.

I'm pretty much considering going vegetarian and living on Arizona Tea.

I'm so sorry. That really, really sucks. I'm glad you're going to be okay though.

I hope you're able to pay everything. I'm resenting taxes this year, knowing that most of it is going to facilitate... all this authoritarian nonsense. I wish there was some way to "conscientiously object" to paying taxes if they're being used for certain things. But that's a slippery slope.

It's going to be my favorite joke for like, the next year.

Just warning you.

That's so rough! That was me last year.

My friend is in a 1-income household paying for her husband, daughter, and her independent son and his partner. She tried to pay off her taxes all last year, only to have her wages garnished for 4K in March. Absolute madness. You're not alone.

Today my wife taught me what scomiting is, and I will never be the same.

Screaming vomiting.

I will never be able to stop subconsciously saying "Wallace and Scomit" intead of "Wallace and Gromit" for the rest of my life now.

Anyone know if they're actually going to shut down the data centers? One of these is in my hometown. A settlement seems useless if they're going to keep contaminating the groundwater and making people sick/causing miscarriages.

The bottom line is, we weren’t there. I still care that someone died on the job, and given what we know of Amazon warehouse work conditions, there is a large chance that there were environmental factors in the death, and the fact that you think that’s irrelevant because someone did CPR is wild.

6 days ago 0 0 1 0

Oh my god. Workplace death is enough to get you in the news in my state. Don’t you have something better to do than argue semantics because you’re sure you’re right? I’m sure you’ve got good intentions but it reads as self-superior and smug. Go touch grass, please.

Either that or he heard vaguely that it existed, never bothered reading it, but tells people he's a scholar on the subject.

I don't think it's the heart attack so much as the circumstances that make it significant? The fact that workers were told not to help the person?

Making it about anything else, like the mundanity of a heart attack, seems like a pretty bad-faith argument, though I thank you for the stats.

Same. I heard about it yesterday from my wife, who heard it on Bsky. It’s terrifying, isn’t it?

I don’t disagree. But the thing is, I don’t know how much protection any other voting democracy has from doing the same. No one thinks it can happen to them. Do other nations have policies and contingencies in place to prevent this? I hope they see us as a cautionary tale.

I’m from Oregon, experiencing serious whiplash as I see all the positive comments instead of people constantly bashing everything she does as “handouts” and “liberal commie ideology” and suddenly I realize that it’s because I’m not on FB.

This is what happened to me. I was a gig worker classified as an "independent contractor," so no one had to give me benefits or protections of any kind. Working 3 jobs, no insurance, able to be fired without reason, treated like garbage on all three fronts. Is it any wonder I had a breakdown?

I literally read this from bed and I cannot. What the fuck is this timeline and can I get off yet

I agree. Like I just posted elsewhere, the day will happen where he pushes the button just because we laughed at him. This man is driven by ego and pride, not reason. And Congress? Congress will watch it happen and MAYBE write a strong letter afterwards.

Maybe we should take this issue seriously.

He always chickens out, until the day he decides to push the button just because we told him he'd chicken out. Only then it will be for ego, for pride -- the two things we can reliably count on him to care about.

And Congress MIGHT stop him AFTER it happens.
