If that seems suspicious, I understand. History teaches healthy skepticism. But sometimes the simple answer is the true one. People need community, ethical guidance, and meaning. The Path provides these without demanding belief in things that contradict evidence. That’s the whole motive.

The motive is straightforward. Millions are leaving religion but losing the community and ethical frameworks that came with it. The Path offers those elements without supernatural requirements. No one profits. No one gains power. People simply gather, support each other, and try to live better lives
When you create space for others to explore these ideas together, you need some way to describe what you’re doing. “The Path” simply names that shared exploration.
As for why call it anything at all? Because humans learn and grow better together than alone. When you tell someone “I believe in compassion, evidence-based thinking, and community support,” that’s personal philosophy.
You’re right that things can change over time. That’s precisely why The Path has no organization to change, no assets to fight over, no positions of power to corrupt. If it drifts from its principles, people simply stop gathering. There’s nothing to hijack.
I appreciate you reading the article & sharing your concerns. Cults demand obedience, isolate members, centralize power, & claim exclusive truth
We encourage questions, have no leaders or membership, & see it as one approach among many. If it changes, peeps should walk away
truth beats tribalism

You’re right to be wary. History shows that movements, no matter how pure their origins, can become corrupted by power structures and dogma…
However my response is longer than a post so I took the opportunity to create an article. In the difference lies the importance
You are 100% correct-reinventing “god” would be wrong and not the intent. This may help thepath.world/2025/09/29/w...
This in a strange way reminded me of a dystopian AI post I recently read open.substack.com/pub/myconver... “We cannot continue to define progress as expansion. We cannot continue to treat consumption as a marker of success. We cannot continue to treat new frontiers as solutions to old problems”
Trees aren't loners! 🌳 They form a "Wood Wide Web" using fungal networks (mycelium) to share nutrients (sugar) and send chemical warning signals to their neighbors. It shows a forest is a cooperative, intelligent super-organism built on mutual support.

It suggests that in extreme circumstances, fulfilling a higher goal can justify actions that appear unethical by normal standards, as seen in Kierkegaard's analysis of Abraham's story.
This is what #thePath defends against…
Teleological suspension of the ethical" is a concept from Søren Kierkegaard that describes an individual setting aside universal ethical rules because of a higher, "teleological" (purpose-driven) purpose, often a direct command from God.
He’s revealing that for Christian nationalists, there is no line when it comes to enforcing their vision of a Christian social order. Democracy & civil liberties are all negotiable in service of what they believe is their God’s plan-A terrifying reality behind that seemingly casual press exchange…

Criticizing exploitative religious institutions is valid. But most believers are victims of those institutions, not the villains running them. Calling individuals delusional doesn’t fight institutional corruption - it just alienates the people who might otherwise question what they’ve been taught.
This tone makes it impossible to have real conversations. I’ve watched people leave harmful religious structures - none of them were helped by being told they’re delusional and lack integrity. They needed respect and better alternatives, not contempt…

Exactly. The Path teaches: waiting for supernatural solutions means the suffering continues. We have the power to act. Whether God can intervene or not doesn’t change that we must do…

Principles → What you believe in
Morals → How you know what’s right or wrong
Ethics → How you act based on those principles and morals
It's amazing how many people have not answered these questions for themselves… have you?

No, #ThePath is not a religion... to understand this point, you need to know why religion exists... Let's do a deep dive by asking why...
When she was in the sixth grade, Tanya Eby's world was unraveling. One day, overcome with grief, she cried in class — and her teacher, Mrs. Welch, wrapped Eby in a hug.

The question isn’t whether humanity is ready to evolve beyond religion. The question is whether we’re brave enough to build something that serves religion’s vital functions while embracing the full truth of what we’ve learned about reality.
