I'm excited to be offering an interactive discussion on promoting #multilingualism in the classrooms on the #Myanmar border at the Inclusive Education Foundation's Education Everywhere (EE5) Conference in Mae Sot, #Thailand tomorrow! sites.google.com/inedfoundati...
Great suggestions here. I already use DuckDuckGo and Mozilla Firefox, but I was excited to learn about Fairphone, and I will be thinking about switching to Proton mail!
The Washington Post published a clear video of federal agents removing Alex Pretti's handgun moments before he was fatally shot. There's nothing in the video to suggest Pretti even reached for his weapon.

Wise words from WEB DuBois to gird us today: "It would be shame and cowardice to surrender this glorious land and its opportunities for civilization and humanity to the thugs and lynchers, the mobs and profiteers, the monopolists & gamblers who today choke its soul and steal its resources."
Ha ha! You always inspire me! Onward in 2026 🙌🏼

The current administration at the New College of Florida lack the necessary experience to run a higher ed institution.
"Not only do the folks running New College not have what it takes to run a higher education institution, they don't trust the people who do know what they're doing."
AI slop. it's what's for dinner. Thanks tech overlords! Keep looking in the mirror while you sing the song about your utopian genius!

The #US just terminated the #TPS for #Myanmar. This means, that the government considers Myanmar a safe place to return #refugees and all other immigrants from Myanmar to whose presence is now "opposed to ... the national interest of the US". An absolute disaster! www.uscis.gov/humanitarian...

Our legal victory in AAUP v. Trump ensures that the Trump administration cannot use civil rights laws to pull federal research funds from universities, which undermines our 1st and 10th amendment rights.
AAUP General Counsel Veena Dubal explains why this is a major victory for higher ed workers.

Breaking news: “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert will end in May 2026, CBS said in a statement.
The announcement came days after Colbert spoke out against the $16 million paid earlier this month by Paramount, the parent company of CBS News.

Sheriffs, police chiefs and unions from across the state went to Jeff City to testify against it👇

Let this be a lesson to everyone: Trump won't relent if you give in; he's a bully. The only thing that will get him to back off is to punch him back.
The WHITE HOUSE Once widely respected as a symbol of American excellence and a global icon of cultural achievement, the Smithsonian Institution has, in recent years, come under the influence of a divisive, race-centered ideology. This shift has promoted narratives that portray American and Western values as inherently harmful and oppressive. For example, the Smithsonian American Art Museum today features "The Shape of Power: Stories of Race and American Sculpture," an exhibit representing that "[slocieties including the United States have used race to establish and maintain sy gems of power, privilege, and disenfranchisement." The exhibit further claims that "sculpture has been a powerful tool in promoting scientific racism" and promotes the view that race is not a biological reality but a social construct, stating "Race is a human invention."|
This is why self-described MAGA "conservatives" often feel uncomfortable in modern academia. Because amongst humanists and social scientists, the idea that race is a biological reality has generally been considered discredited nonsense longer than any currently living American has been alive.
