I would like to see more interrogation of MQs reasons for cutting their part of the funding. Also the relationship to what’s happening in the sector more broadly (e.g. unimelb discontinuing their support of Meanjin).

Also MQ’s staff and course cuts didn’t really get traction in the media. It is curious, it wouldn’t take much to find out if someone is going to make the effort to write about it.

Macquarie pulling their funding last year quietly slipped under everyone’s radar. I found out through a friend who once worked at 2SER.

I know a few senior lecturers who don’t have PhDs but have some postgrad and obvs years of expertise. But I haven’t heard of a professor not having a PhD before today.

I so miss the nonsense from that group at times.

He could have been a photography lecturer and that would have been ok. Still would have needed to declare his friendship but wouldn’t have been as bad as this.

If you want to give your mates a flash job go run a fruit shop or a footy club maybe not a major public institution.

The good news regarding the health stuff is well, I haven’t heard anything yet. And I’ve been too preoccupied to pay it much attention.
