I’ve visited the US a few times, but atm I don’t see myself wanting to go back. Not just because of Trump, but because of the overall mess I see there. As an EU citizen, I have plenty of closer and better options, as well as more distant ones like Japan, NZ, Australia, South Korea, Canada, etc.

Russia is losing its influence all over the world... well done, Putin!

The midterms and the next election in the U.S. will also point to that direction.

I will be one of the happiest people to see my predictions fail. I spent more than five years of my life working almost full-time against Orbán. Sadly, I don’t see that happening.

HU election system favors the winner,and if you win the majority of the single-member districts,you are almost done.My estimate is the following:for ~20m EUR,they can buy 3,000 votes in 50 districts,and that’s enough.Protests will be suppressed within a few weeks,and everything will go on as before.

the government is clearly in Putin’s hands, unlike in Moldova last year; therefore, buying the votes of marginalized people is much easier (and centrally organized by government puppets).

75% chance: Orbán wins, because he is an extremely valuable asset for Putin, Xi, and other autocrats and global mafiosos. The Moldovan playbook will appear again, but this time it will be far more effective:

Fidesz will block everything over the next four years (they have puppets in every position, from the courts and central bank to the media), and they will come back into power in 2030.

20% chance: Tisza wins a simple majority, and all the previous sh*t will fall on them. They may try to grow into the role, but I'm very pessimistic: if they don't purge (= bring before the courts) the previous oligarchs and Fidesz politicians, they are going to lose.
