Anyway, lets drill for more North Sea oil so retired uncles can put cheaper petrol in the 3.0 litre jeep and BP shareholders can buy tickets to wherever the new sex crime island is.

Critical Atlantic current significantly more likely to collapse than thought Scientists say finding is ‘very concerning’ as collapse would be catastrophic for Europe, Africa and the Americas

This is very bad. I had to deradicalise myself from doing Illegal Activities (and also talking about it all the time which I was told was “depressing everyone”) after initially learning about this as a teenager. Maybe that was an error.

Oh they can grasp it but:
a) burning fossil fuels is profitable
b) loads of people don’t care about the future because they’ll simply be dead

Barney Gumble and Leonard Nimoy in front of a monorail. Barney asks, "What do you mean, your work is done? You didn't do anything." Nimoy replies with a smug "Didn't I?" (He did nothing)

Huge respect to European leaders and US Democrats for pressuring Trump to back off his genocide.

Great to see all the sensibles are still shitting the bed about a working class woman saying things that are true.

I suspect whatever was here before The Incident that led to its removal absolutely ruled.

I have been on a Big Walk and saw this incredible activity for children (fenced off dirt). TAKE CARE!

Industrial profit, rent, interest; different names for surplus value created by workers. MP’s donors get all 3 so parliament is an organ of capitalist rule. Socialism 101 gets you closer to understanding power in the UK than a pol prof listening to focus groups parrot daily mail talking points.

The labour theory of value has its problems, sure, but its quite clarifying to think: a worker adds 6 hours of value, is paid for 3, then watches the other 3 vanish into the pockets of capital. Our “representatives” in parliament write and sustain the law that makes this legal. In touch? Probs not.

People like me, Jimothy Centrist PhD, can’t stomach any criticism and will be forced to take a moral stand by returning to the Nazi CSAM website.

Listen up dumb-dumbs, saving bluesky requires you to grasp the following:

GOOD social media culture:
posting my think piece about how trans people must go under the bus so we can replace school with means tested AI tokens.

BAD social media culture:
replying that this is bad.

One of my fav things about Starmer is his whole thing is Publicly Lying™ and acting like it’s smart 4D chess and the people he’s lying to (or about) won’t notice. Everything being shit doesn’t help, but this is deffo one reason he’s so widely despised.

this is one of those guys where if public libraries didn’t exist he’d tell you how it was all very complicated and silly of you to want them.

briefcases LOVE “populism” but it is a useless, vague term. from who uses it and how they use it, it seems to mean “everyone I don’t like” from centrists.

down thread the guy suggests there’s no evidence for anything being pointed out, as if four and a half decades of neoliberalism hollowing out the state and therefore the notion that politicians can do anything for people isn’t RIGHT THERE. fully briefcase brained.

Only a betrayal of ordinary people and the environment, not the fossil fuel companies, where the “Labour” Party’s loyalties actually lie. Big £££ to be made!

Tomb Raider (1996) is my favourite one. Lara is cool, the levels rule and its also creepy. The “Anniversary” remake is a good game but lost a lot of the vibe. Curious if this new one will get it back, and also about seeing Unreal Engine 5 Atlantis flesh walls.

Pupils in England are losing their thinking skills because of AI, survey suggests Two-thirds of secondary school teachers report a decline in core abilities such as writing and problem-solving

AI is a disaster for kids and Starmer’s government have gone all in pumping this sewage into schools. They want to “ensure AI is used safely, critically and responsibly” while all evidence suggest that the way to do that is to wholesale bin it off. No juicy contracts for big tech then though.
