:3 More Memory BS Moooore
Tyyy ♡ hehah, that whole "writing is emotional processing for me" thing can be double edged at times
The content isn't even that dire its just the memories of making the words are like constant spring loaded hammers coming for me. Hall of knives but only for one guy ever
I usually reread my own works a lot but I dont like to with this one. I dont want to go back in there. That was a tough place to be
This fic is a tight 1600 words of the most difficult writing of my life due to many factors. I moved cross country between start and end of the project it was part of.
15 hardest thing for you to write
Fluff. Shortly followed by sex where no one feels painfully weird about it
12 fic that best represents you
Oh lord lmfao
There is the "I put way too much of my inner soul in this that i feel like it makes ppl uncomfortable" fic (thought suppression paradox)
And then there is the "this fic is a landmark of something extremely important in life i went thru" fic (this one:)
--so generally, making sure i occasionally mix up my routine keeps me writing, and is thus an "inspiration." Enough quietude to think through phrases and a comfortable workspace without friction are also "an inspiration." Again i am giant stick in mud abt not treating writing as magic
4 what inspires me to write
I worked really hard to make this the case and it was far from easy, but the answer nowadays is "being alive." I use writing as a reflective tool for my feelings and experiences to understand them better--
9, 8, 6 ~
Then once its been up about a month I start to like it. Wheeze
I get pretty critical and cruel and mocking about my writing right up until im ready to hit post, especially if its especially emotionally demonstrative work. . . I usually won't let something out the door unless i feel like its "airtight" in terms of implications flowing how I want them to
Theyre very hard
Also i loved thst scene criessSSS
I actually get kind of agonized abt this at times because I have to work wayyy rharder to write things that dont feel this way.
8 how I choose my titles
- lowercase where possible
- kikuo song refs
- 2-4 word poetic distillation
- "why is it called that?" -> "oh.......thats why....."
1 my favorite genre to write is .. idk how to word it ... thing where someone reads it and says "wow this feels extremely terrible, great work"
And as any hygiene habit it happens sometimes that we can't alwyas fulfill it . But its really important it become a common mode of your thoughts instead of mystifying it At All
19 my fav writing tip is that you have to treat writing like a hygiene habit if you want it as serious part of your life. You have to just do it a little bit every day. Its ok if its just a sentence but staying consistently in that mode does crazy shit for you. I do Not believe in magic wrt writing
13 a fun fact about a fic i wrote
My very first fic I started writing for hsr chronologically, is Til That Far Horizon, the bodyshare one where Sunday is physically dead. I began it before his debut banner. I hope I post a ch2 before he gets an sp or something
When I edit or let the edit brain get too close while im Writing... I have to really manage my mood.
So editing is um ... happening consistently throughout all that. I will obsessively reread it before posting, often putting it into different word processors So that the formatting might force me to read it fresher. I never am entirely done; often ill reread something years later & make line edits
In my head, at which point ill work obsessively on it until too exhausted, usually bringing together stuff from all those daydreams that I can still remember. I will cut off sections to place to the side if they are in the way, and then usually reintroduce them gradually.
18 editing process
Misery and bliss... the same as it ever was
More seriously: my process is often, i will draft a tonal sketch of a story, think abt it rly hard, occasionally add brief chunks to it, and then it will become such a itchy scab in me ill eventually be tired of it being an open idea--
Wait one more: my favorite thing to do to write is pick a fact I know or a story I like and write about my emotions about that thing thru the medium of that story
Im highly particular about pattern of syllable flow in sentences, and about my weird little grammars. I consider myself a structuralist, with a strong background in poetry and heavily voice-inflected comedic nonfiction. Ok i think thats all my observations.
--more than I like stating it outright. I have a strong fondness for certain words that I strictly ration usage of per story. I tend to build stories in vignette rather than as a continuous flow. I will circuitously weave around dialog if I am mot confident in a particular character's vocal pattern
9. Describe writing style
Really impressionistic and dissociative. I don't struggle with getting someone out of a room, but i get very stuck on my mental dioramas of scenes. I like representing emotional states thru environment or actions within them. I like writing around the shape of a feeling --
3. Tags ive used the most
Ah, my tags are boring!! I only wrote character studies for years, so I need to defeat my past self with the power of aventurine!
Making a short vn where something really bad happens to someone's highly specific body part in excruciating detail would fix me
