The UK recognising a Palestinian State is a significant step along the way and I have consistently called for it since being elected. I support the conditions put forward by the UK Government which the Israeli Government should be doing irrespective of recognition. My belief is that the UK should be recognising Palestine now, but I understand that the UK Government are trying to push the Israeli Government to end the famine in Gaza, annexation of land in the West Bank and start a final status peace process.
