Thank you for that. I work to ensure that all news that affects trans lives in Australia is linked on our website. I run the directory and news aggregator to ensure that folks are informed.

It's mostly because I can't write to save myself and the topic of the article that trans folks should be aware of. And nobody else is covering it yet.

That being said, if you find another source for this, I'm happy to swap the article out, but right now, this is the only source I've seen.

Namely that the episode doesn't present 2 sides to the discussion but does highlight many different viewpoints.

Considering I work a 40 hour week. Everything is generally vetted by the source. Apparently it sounds like this is part of the episode that airs tonight. That being said, there's a very good line at the end of the article that I think is worth it right now.

I can honestly feel the sunburn as it's happening a lot of the time.

A sunburnt arm...

Oww

I love pride parades and events, but holy smokes, does the sun not like me... I may have forgotten sunscreen yesterday and ooooh boy, are my arms feeling it. My face also has the raccoon eyes going on...
I am just pain and suffering.

Thank you for the kind words. I do have a newsletter that goes out weekly with a news roundup. I also love submissions from the community. Both for news and services for the directory. I can't keep up with everything on my own and do miss things so I do rely on those submissions.

This group is well known, they did a speakers corner where one of their members wished that a trans woman would die. 6 months planning, 16 people showed up, inc online. A month later the local city where that was happened did a trans flag raising. 300 people showed up, with only a weeks planning

While I wish we could take the credit for it here, we can't. We are just reposting Star Observer here. They deserve the credit.

@trans.au is a trans service directory and news aggregator. Bringing everything together in 1 place.

Yeah, and the fact that it's the same group from the Tickle vs Giggle case just shows how astroturfed this all is. It's the same people...

Their website is a bit old, but they have a some good news. So I'll absolutely keep linking folks over there.

That being said, this link should head straight to Star Observer... Not Trans.au itself, we give the page hit to our friends who wrote the article.

Yeah, I'm not the best when it comes to developing a website and it's a little all over the place, but that's wordpress for you too to a degree. I did my best with what I had available, but it's all just me doing this.

So hanging around at Christmas dinner. Finding out that I have a family member doing work in sexual health. Sexual health often has an overlap with trans healthcare and ohh look, they are on my directory @trans.au already. Perfect!

The homelab server rack is mostly complete. Just missing a KVM over IP that's in the post and it'll be done for now. It took so long to get finalised but I'm so happy with it.

It's more that it's a petition on the government website in Queensland so it at least forces a response.

I try to boost what I can but I'm also 1 person who can't dedicate all their time to this as much as I want.

I'm not able to really push for change at that scale individually, I'm doing what I can, sharing news and running the directory service. I hear you though. I'm about to work on an email for folks in Queensland with a government petition set up by someone in Queensland.

Ohh, that's very reasonable. Heck, I recently changed job and have found it hard to keep up with this whole thing but still recognise the importance of it.

Sorry, I see NGOs and trans.au put together and assume folks equate the 2. I get what you mean though, and while there is a push, it's not been particularly effective to see folks not use trans folks as a political points grab.

I mean, I'm not an NGO, I'm just me doing stuff but I'm also not sitting by idle with this either. And I know I put up an article the other day about the report should be with government now and when can we get it?

Just wrapped a full day of recording the regional trans podcast. Keep an eye out for it in the next few months. It should be really insightful.

I've raised a complaint because the bus schedule is all over the place in this town. I swear. None of them are listed or work properly.

Love this, I missed my bus because the Transport Victoria website said it left at 6:30, nope. It left at 6:17... Time to annoy my partner and get her to drive me and hour away to get an alternate service... Great work Transport Vic.

It's not like they haven't been given adjudications from the press council over this biased reporting in the past, ohh wait...

@glitch42au.bsky.social This is one you want to hear about...

5 months ago 2 0 0 0

Ohh boy, do I have some news for trans folks in Victoria tonight on stream. I'll be sharing it whenever I can find another source as well over on @trans.au but in the mean time, happy trans awareness week!

Yeah, we know. I hate it so much seeing that this is the case. Personally it feels like someone is just throwing everything at the wall and seeing what sticks, but hey, it's clearly not about protecting the kids.
