I’m really thrilled Beyoncé won the best Country Album category. I sharp shot across the bow for country music. Women and black artists have been marginalized in this genre for too long.

Deserved win. Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter was also my favorite of last year. It’s just a solid record. Not a lot of major artists would be willing to go on a limb like this genre wise and just kill it. But it’s not just country, not just hip hop. It’s everything. Opera included.
