here's a little clip I animated for my thesis project showing the visual direction for my games' cutscenes! this was probably the toughest for me to do since I am really struggling with all animation things but I still like the outcome ββ¨
these two were my first test models, here I tried to get the resolution and overall texturing style right - I really like how the house turned out but the resolution was a bit too low for the cafΓ© scene

Thank you so much! I used @blockbench.bsky.social for both the modeling and texturing :)
this milk carton vending machine is probably my favorite 3D-model I made for my cafΓ© environment scene π₯

thank you so much! unfortunately no, since it's still really really early in development and I first have to find the time to work on it further π₯²

thank you!!
some pixel art chairs I drew as concept art for my cafΓ© environment πͺ
and this is how it currently looks all put together in Unity (more house types would have been great but unfortunately my time was very limited and I had like 5 other projects to finish πΉ)
+ the terrain needs more love in the future
But I really prefer the new look and the workflow is much nicer!
The new appproach I took in my project was to instead work with hand-painted pixelart texturing.
I redesigned the whole cafΓ© environment scene and made these models to recreate it in Unity. For modeling and texturing I used @blockbench.bsky.social for the first time β€οΈβ
The issue I had with this approach was a lack of control over the individual pixels, a noisy look when you're moving around (fly-away pixels) and a lot of lighting problems for different day-times. I'm also just very inexperienced with shaders so making it work was a pain in the ass
the project is a continuation of my barista game but I've developed vertical slice pieces for different areas (environments, characters, UI etc.)
For reference, here's what the art direction looked like before my Master project - I used shaders to create the pixel-art effect on my 3d models
there's so much art I haven't shared anywhere yet because I have really gotten discouraged with posting on most platforms I used before over the years BUT I'll give it another try here so I'll start with sharing the work I've done for my Master project over the coming days π (i recently graduated)
oil painting of a crusty little white doge
really happy about the progress I made on this painting today he looks like a little pokemon sitting in the grass like that - just the blue needs to go I fear
