Good- not great. Worth a watch. As a therapist, get tired of the representation of the profession, but putting that aside there are amazing moments. Timing and comedy is spot on.
Always impressed with our students @northeasterncos.bsky.social
Thanks for representing the Psychology department at the admissions Welcome Day!
Haven’t seen the film but loved the algorithm
I didn’t get my answer but did try to take it.
Thanks Zac for joining me at the table today @northeasternu.bsky.social to represent #Psychology at the explore program event. @northeasterncos.bsky.social
It’s very cool to see how these things can be connected in the #unconscious!
#Jung and his ideas about #complexes resonated for me here- something like a feeling can tap into ‘soma’ / physical health
It is always a possibility, but hopefully managers are thinking about putting together people with different traits in order to round out a team. Much like we were talking about with inferior and superior functioning in analytic psychology… A company would want people with all sorts of strengths.
I asked Claude to create a CBT framework for someone struggling with anxious thoughts. It did some thinking and spit out a 13 page fill in/worksheet exercises which was cool. I think AI can help with certain tasks related to therapy but in my opinion, it is not a substitute for a human therapist.
What happened?
I love when I agree with the other therapists in an article where I am cited... news.northeastern.edu/2026/02/17/s.... @northeasterncos.bsky.social @nuglobalnews.bsky.social
This had a hot take on Boston traffic I thought important. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/e...
Rerun, but first time I heard it.
Love the find! Do you suppose interacting via social media counts as “with real people” or as “imaginary” since there is so much editing/cultivating an online persona?

All along I thought AI would be able to do #CBT… yikes.
"...our childhoods leave in us stories... stories we never found a way to voice...When we cannot find a way of telling our story, our story tells us-we dream these stories, we develop symptoms, or we find outselves acting in ways we don't undersand" p10 Grosz (2013)
The slow, nonlinear process of psychoanalysis has been overtaken by symptom-based treatments, like cognitive behavioral therapy, that teach specific skills and can be completed in a matter of months, and by a whole new class of drugs that promise quick, almost miraculous relief.
Psychoanalysis, … lost its sheen and became an object of mockery as the culture moved toward a more externalized, Oprah-ized approach to the self, in which mortifying secrets were uttered aloud instead of in the confines of a therapist’s office.
The interior life, predicated on a measured reflectiveness, has largely yielded to the instantaneous responses and public enactments of social media.

True that. When people ask me how to find a therapist, if they want to use Psychology Today’s directory, I tell them avoid people who’ve checked every modality and every population. Not a good sign.
Finally got to reading this … interesting to see the trends, gossip, etc.
One take away? Good training will help keep clients coming your way… thanks BGSP … bgsp.edu/academics/de...

Oh yes for sure. People hear “significant” and associate it with “big” when the operational definition of statistical significance is not same.
I didn't realize these so-called evidence-based therapies (ie, manualised) were actually based on studies that didn't even have statistically significant results. What's the point of these methods if they don't ultimately help people in the long-term? @drwilliamsharp.bsky.social #TalkingHelps
In “Where is the Evidence for Evidence-Based' Therapy“, Shedler is careful to note that the term ‘statistically significant’ is more of a marketing technicality than a clinically meaningful result. It can be used to bolster an otherwise underwhelming “benefit”. @drwilliamsharp.bsky.social #psyc4666

Discussing what evidence based therapy really means youtu.be/IQBx5TONHac
You and @lukepando.bsky.social are on the same idea. Let’s discuss!
Would you read what your therapist has to say about you? Therapists are now allowing patients to see their therapists' notes, in an attempt to improve therapeutic trust, communication, and self-confidence. #MentalHealthAwareness
@drwilliamsharp.bsky.social
After reading Dr. Laquercia’s blog on patients having access to their therapists’ notes, I agree with his apprehension. Discussing a patient’s progress can be an important part of the analytic process that I fear may be lost through the sharing of therapists’ notes. @drwilliamsharp.bsky.social
