If you want to laugh at my #1 starship hangup, this is what bothers me more than perhaps anything else in modern Trek: Dark, grungy hulls!

To me the refit struck the perfect balance of realism and utopian minimalism and nearly every other ship since has taken us further from the light of god. 😅

I have posted Trek ships recently with x1, x3 and x4 warp nacelles and I think each has received comments like "it breaks the rules" or "what benefit does it have?" etc. And besides the fact that I really don't care, what strikes me odd is that… these designs are not even mine! Why tell me? 🤔

I ridiculed this at the time, but perhaps still the very worst example of the dinginess of the modern era was the Enterprise launching from a BRIGHTLY LIT drydock in SNW E1, yet somehow still shrouded in muddy darkness. 🙄
