This is the only AI slop I like. Why? What is wrong with me? (Don't answer.)

A few fellow NIHers/NIH alum will listen along with me (in personal capacities, off the clock). I'll share our collective reactions and corrections here.

So, follow along this Friday afternoon around 3pm.

And if you're planning to watch, please join in!

It would be the most DC thing ever if the thieves took the wheels but left the van.

This sucks but I can't help loving how Trump is getting us closer to ending fossil fuel industry by exposing how vulnerable and expensive it is. People and governments everywhere are seeing the good sense of renewables thanks to Trump.

Mid-20th century red scare blacklists also got things wrong a lot.

Fun fact:

Nancy Reagan met Ronald Reagan when she contacted him hoping to get off a blacklist because of some mistake.

Also this one! My favorite of the author's interviews. Sarah is awesome and she ran for Ag Commissioner of NC in 2024. If only she had won! Our current guy is kind of useless. shows.acast.com/farm-to-tabe...

Native tree too! My grandparents had a bunch in their yard in Georgia (sadly lost them to a freak tornado that circled their house they had offspring of the trees but itd be a while until they were big). Completely carefree no water or anything. Can grow native plum + dogwood underneath them

Also, I can't resist reminding everybody that all our delicious indigenous plants were probably bred and spread by America's first human inhabitants. They were and are master gardeners and agriculturalists, as well as hunters! benfranklinsworld.com/episode-223-...

OMG I love dogwood so much. The perfect understory tree, in my opinion. I spend a lot of money and time removing non-native, non-deciduous privets and imported (from Asia) wisteria (my nemesis!) so that the dogwoods can survive.

This isn't just about censorship.

This is an important result, though an expected one in concordance with dozens of other studies.

But it's all just a game to Podcast Jay and the laptop class.

Patients in ERs and hospitals are mere abstractions for them.

They really just don't care.

probably a huge waste but maybe I'm wrong

Absolutely! Unfortunately our Ag Commissioners are beholden to "big pig" and can't think beyond row crops - soy, corn. The least profitable crops of all LOL!

I sure do wish we had paw paw juice and paw paw industry! Those fruit are native to the US and can grow in lots of places. Just need "big ag" to start investing!

The Souther US could fill every niche almonds currently occupy by growing ... pecans! They taste tens times better when roasted and can for sure be used to make a pecan milk. We just need investment in processing!

Pingree, Massie Team Up to Strip Big Chemical Immunity from Farm Bill

🚨NEWS🚨

Rep. Massie and I just introduced a bipartisan amendment to strip the pesticide liability shield from the Farm Bill.

If a company’s product makes people sick, it should be held accountable. If states and communities want to create stronger protections, they should have every right to do so.
