It seems like they probably just didn't have the proper vocabulary to describe your art.
The angular features are one of the most distinctive things about your style. But there's also the textures and the collage-like composition of your work that are very story-book-esque and uniquely yours 😊
Happy book birthday to The Usual Choices! The pdf is now out in the world! Hope everyone who backed it enjoys the collection, and I can't wait to get the physical books into people's hands soon!
There's been a lot going on in the world lately. This is just your friendly reminder that if you feel overwhelmed by it, you can take a step back.
Be outraged. Be disgusted. Be sorrowful.
You can be all of those things and still keep yourself emotionally healthy. Take care of yourself.

The "traditional" structure of TTRPGs puts an enormous amount of pressure on the GM to learn/refine & very little on the players.
Which is somehow seen as more reasonable than spreading the load of learning/contribution across the whole table.
Broader implications about community in there, y'all.
Sometimes in the past, I've gotten subclass abilities and felt like I didn't have the space in the narrative or combat to show off the new goods.
I was wondering if anyone else felt the same, or if GMs would want access to pre-written, setting agnostic materials to provide that space for players.

Is there any interest for a set of modules/dungeons/one-shots for D&D 5e2024 to showcase the abilities players receive when they get their subclasses at level 3?
Not once did I have to whip out my GayCard(tm), but instead asked about their projects, talked about mine, and what we were excited about at the con.
If anyone is asking what is unique about you, it's because they're desperately trying to scrape a conversation out of an uninteresting blob.
I've been to several conventions this year as a budding creator (with a less than handful of self-published works) and as a +1 with my partner.
Regardless of the difference in genre, medium, or professional experience, I was able to make connections by just having normal conversations with people.

This is so insidious. Not only does it presuppose that the only reason PoC and LGBTQ+ have a voice is because of some sort of exclusive cabal, but also that he wasn't shepherded into the spotlight was direct offense as it was a foregone conclusion.
I'm very much looking forward to putting the extra energy left over into more table top projects in the new year 😁
After a lot of anxious waiting and signing some delayed paperwork, I was able to go into my new job for the first time yesterday.
I think it's no small surprise that it's the first time I haven't felt completely drained after work, and it's also the first non-service industry job I've had.
I've had an eventful couple of months (mostly good things) that means my game design has taken a back seat.
A pause, not a stop.
I needed a reminder that creation is an ongoing process, and this is me paying it forward.
Take your time. One step at a time is still forward progress.

But for realsies, I like that they're always ready to push his card design in interesting ways (see Zendikar Rising and OTJ) while keeping him true to the standard blue archetypes that always make his cards eminently playable.
Celebrating two years of sobriety by prepping a one-shot for my friends before Thanksgiving.
Too bad I didn't know that you couldn't print D&D2024 character sheets from Roll20 before buying the PHB on there 🙃
It doesn't make it any easier that I'm still waiting for the last round of paperwork to come through before I officially start, and my anxiety is doing a number on me 😅
Had to say goodbye to a TTRPG group of 5 years yesterday.
Thankfully, it's because I found a 9-5 job that I'll be working during our normal play time.
Here’s to you, Ophelia, Madame Vastra, & Nari. 3 separate campaigns, countless one-shots, and even more memories.
Had a great time at the prerelease but I definitely stayed out to late cracking packs afterwards 😪

After years of working night shifts, I had forgotten how much I hate waking up at 6 am 😭
My go-to is Celsius x 2 then add 30. It's close enough to Fahrenheit for everyday temps.
I've worked and gamed with folks from all over Europe and weather envy in both directions was a regular topic of discussion 😄

The Vampire Survivors co-op is great.
I definitely stayed up way too late last night watching overwhelming bullet-hell strobe effects with my partner 🧛♂️🔫🕺

Absolutely. Seeing that attitude from someone who is supposed to be hosting regular games in that space definitely means I'll be finding a more inclusive place to play.
But honestly, the biggest issue is he is a regular GM for the group hosting the event, so I think our GM for the night didn't want to piss him off.
But I 100% agree, if it were my table, I'd want to focus on the players excited to play and let him make his own fun 😁
