15 minutes; no questions; government got the blame; my department to have 60% of us sacked. Apparently sacking us will lead to a ‘new, improved’ curriculum. No voluntary scheme, straight to selection and legal minimum redundancy payment.

Sorry to hear that. May you get the outcome you wish.
Even the Greens can see this is worth investigating. Keep the millions spent on weed in Scotland out of the gangsters' hands, have a regulated and taxed product only available to adults.....just like alcohol.
The Scottish Parliament election is being fought in the shadow of devastating job losses at Grangemouth refinery, the Mossmorran petrochemicals complex and offshore. Broken energy promises and policy failure is recruiting voters to Reform. I've written for Renewal on Scotland's unjust transition.
Why? Reform of Council tax like any other legislative reform simply requires a parliamentary majority. MSPs don’t all “work together” to agree other policy measures. Why is this one so special? www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
St Fittick's Crowdfunder launches today, for a legal challenge against Aberdeen City Council's (ACC) claimed ownership of the land, aiming to protect the park from destruction by works for the new harbour.

Pilgrimage is vital in my view. A trip to the dark side of the moon could be a pilgrimage. But it's only open to a handful of people, and I doubt the experience could ever be shared with us, back here on Earth.
Even medieval peasants had the right to walk to Canterbury or St Andrews. Do we?
And how do you feel about that?
Ingredients lacking in Scotland;
* A national movement
* A political party dedicated to self-government
* Robust connections between the citizens and the political class
We need a "working class history month". Remind people just where so many of our hard-fought rights come from and why those in power are so hell-bent on convincing so many people that minorities are the problem.

Question: What product of general utility will emerge from these data centres?
Delighted to find the newspaper my great-grandfather, M.T. Hannigan, ran - The Dundee Catholic Herald - describing Winston Churchill as a "dangerous, double-dealing, oily-tongued adventurer" in 1921. 1/
Yup. Started with the expenses scandal at Westminster. Turned out they could just brass-neck it. They took it from there.

Empirical tests for public bodies: Tell me who owns Craiganour? You can't? OK, you've had your shot, someone else gets a go at your job.
I'm sure he would. And the people who allow the public service dreamland to drift around in a pink fluffy cloud are his handmaidens and henchmen.
I was reading Baron Offord's statement about cutting 3% of public spending in Scotland without affecting frontline services and thinking about just this kind of nonsense. Working at pace to deliver glossy brochures and protocols.
Oh dear.
Folks, with the best will in the world your glossy brochure is *way* off the pace. Land in Scotland is still widely held anonymously. Here is just a single example.

Much tenacity still required if this legislation turns out to be operationally defective.
The most hilarious outcome is Mr Guest being fined under S14 but refusing to register and the Keeper refusing to add his name to the RCI. That would be a pay-as-you-hide system for landownership.
A prosecution report has entered the COPFS sausage machine. I don't know if for S10 or S14 offences. The possible outcomes are all hilarious for someone.
Should the case become live of course we'll all need to wheesht.
Completely. I have no training in law of course, so it's hard to make sense of the underlying texts. Still can't believe that we *as citizens* are expected to report breaches of these complex rules to the actual police. The police were equally nonplussed to discover they had enforcement duties.
A post by me on @andywightman.scot's website for anyone interested in Craiganour estate, plutocracy, #LandReform, #Scotland and indeed Grace Jones and Beyoncé.
Will landownership in our country ever be fully transparent?
