You did! Lovely to see you on this side π

My mum's a former teacher about the same age as this one. She can definitely afford to put her heating on.
Why, thank you kindly!
Hallo to anyone who's found me here! I've been writing sapphic crime/thrillers for 10+ years. I'm a frontline paramedic which means I swear a lot, I'm always knackered and I'm bad at working to deadlines. My cats are dreadful, and I love sheep and mountains and muddy hikes. That about covers it!
Seems like loads of folks are jumping off Shitter's sinking ship and onto here. Hallooooo! TBF, I'm far livelier over on Threads (mainly because I enjoy talking about random stuff!) where I'm also well, Cari Hunter. But I wanted to say hi to new followers ππ
This kicked 2024 off to a very nice start.
It's great liking the hated chocs. They're always left over in the xmas tubs at work. Meanwhile, the green triangles can get stuffed. They're nasty AF.
Pls send me all your coconut cast offs. Thank you kindly.
Ah, the lesser known B side

Positive vibes nonetheless.
Tell your wife thank you kindly π If she has any entertaining Scottish phrases for Ms. Isla Munro (A Calculated Risk) feel free to throw them in my direction.
Yeah, I've never listened to it. I am SO grateful that BSB accidentally found Nicki for the rest of mine (she'd originally auditioned for another BSB author). I think we've grown together as we've gone along. I'm a better author than I was and she's hit her stride and then some as a narrator.
That's probably for the best! I'm fond of both books but they are very obviously early novels and I'd change a ton of things if I had my time over. The audio of Tumbledown is better than DP, mainly because Sarah is cute as a button in it.
Snacky cravings are NEVER a bad thing! Oh, if you're listening to the books, Snowbound has a different narrator to all my others. Some people have got on well with her...I never made it past the sample π¬
I have a lot of very wonderful US readers who take great delight in being fluent at northern English swearing. And then there are the indignant minority who think everyone should write in their standard vernacular and those people, quite frankly, can please go and read something else.
Thank you! π I do read my reviews, for better or for worse. A bad one might linger for a while if it's sensible, but the ones that say more about the reviewer than the book are like water off a duck's back.
Ha! I get my share. Main themes: "I chose a crime book and I am pissed off it is not a romance." "I am an AMURRRICAN and cannot cope with anything not written in AMURRRICAN." "I hate acronyms and uh...plot." And occasionally: "GAY π±" (when they've got me mixed up with Cara Hunter π)
Oh whoops! π
I KNOW π±
My equilibrium is just fucked. There was Gluhwein and fairy lights and everything!
ππ That would've proper shit you up!
Moody weather, moody crime and Nicki Vincent's dulcet northern tones, what's not to love?
Just written a scene so sweet and festive, I'm going to have to have a lie down in a cool, dark room, then probably murder someone in the next chapter.

They're all deplorable. It's difficult to overstate the damage they've done to this country during their time in power. I hope they get annihilated at the next election.
Good riddance, you vile flesh wasting piece of crap. How long now till we can get rid of the rest of your mates?
It's been on there for ages winding me the fuck up. I'm going to write to them again. It's been a while since I've reminded them that they're a useless complicit bunch of twats.
Oh fuck off Goodreads. If you genuinely gave a damn about "authenticity" of reviews and ratings you'd have binned off Charles and his 7000+ 1 star ratings of WLW books years ago.
* WLW fiction * Sapphic fiction * tossers who need binning
With spookily perfect timing, my freebie codes for the fabulous audio version of βA Calculated Riskβ are now mine! I have ten codes available for either Audible US or UK ONLY. If you want to enter say BOO! in the comments or βlikeβ this post. Closing date for entries is 12pm GMT, 2nd Nov.
