Obviously that doesn’t change what the comments are saying, but I feel like the context is important - these probably aren’t people who claim reading as a great hobby or personality trait, they’re just random people who may well not have touched a book since high school.
I know it’s fun to shit on booktok, but I’m almost certain I’ve seen the video these comments are from and it’s not from booktok at all, it’s literally just a silly video by a couple whose content is mostly humour and usually has nothing to do with books.
One of them literally used the phrase ”if you smell shit everywhere you go, check your own shoes” and when I said that concept doesn’t apply when a marginalised person is talking about experiencing bigotry, I was heavily downvoted.
Personally I haven’t used Reddit since I saw a convo on r/CuratedTumblr where people were saying “if a trans woman of colour says she struggles to find queer community because she keeps running into racists and transmisogynists, that means she’s purity testing and thinks she’s better than us”
Yeah, there definitely is also a very small but loud and wrong crowd of trans women that do seem to have a problem with *all* trans men just for being trans men, but I know you’re not one of those at all.
(I don’t use Reddit so I can’t help with the rest of your question but you seemed to think she was talking about all trans men in general so I wanted to clarify that)
When she says tMRA, Chhavi doesn’t mean “activist for the rights of trans men”, she means “Men’s Rights Activist who is trans”. If you’re familiar with redpill manosphere MRA rhetoric you will see the difference. the vast majority of trans men are not tMRAs.
OH NO that’s gross I’m sorry
Sorry but I have to ask - are you calling him a tard, or did you just unnecessarily censor the word turd and accidentally make it look like a way more offensive actual slur?

Cover of Lo, Nuns!: A picture in colours that resemble a medieval illustration, comprising five nuns in various habits. It is set in a golden oval frame, with flowing plumes of red and blue, and ribbons. The first nun is dressed in a gold habit, and has an elegant breastplate and a curved sword. The second nun wears a crimson habit and a sensual pose. She has long claws, and she plays with a long string of beads. She has bright blue eyes. The third nun wears a ragged, feathery habit, in raven black. She carries a sickle. Her hand is stained red/black. The fourth nun is in a normal brown/gray habit. She looks alarmed, and is trying to grab a cat, who is jumping out of the frame. The fifth nun is in a blue/black habit, and is holding up an ammonite. A demonic, clawed hand approaches her shoulder.
Cover reveal: Lo, Nuns!
@anemoneart.bsky.social has done an amazing job on the cover, introducing us to just five of the many interesting nuns (and the pussy) to be found within these pages.
I am honestly blown away with how incredible the art is!
The only reason xe’s writing in English in the first place is because we colonised xer country and genocided xer ancestors, let xer put xer damn ”U”s where xe wants 🙄 I certainly don’t drop mine when I’m talking about America, that has never even been a rule.

Talia makes a lot more sense when you realise she *thinks* in Bond villain monologues. Any time she’s talking normally and non-villainously, that’s her masking.
