‘Mutual free movement’ for UK and EU citizens supported by 84% of Brits, in stunning new poll Omnisis poll suggests opposition to free movement was based on lack of awareness and the UK government failing to enforce the rules

When 84% of people in the UK support mutual Freedom of Movement then how did the government get away with abolishing it?

Have you ever been accidentally #ageist?

“I suddenly realised that over the years, some of my attitudes had been ageist and I’d not even been aware of it!” Said Jill when speaking to us about our @agewithoutlimits.bsky.social social campaign.

No, it's up to each provider to recruit at local competitive rates and then for private purchasers and councils to negotiate a fair cost. This is far more efficient and flexible than a national template

Some of these initiatives already exist on a Council by council basis. NCF produce recs for costs nationally but difficult to see how a full national service would take into acct cost of living variations between north and south etc. What we've got already would work if only it was properly funded.

One million elderly people skipping meals amid winter fuel benefit crisis The row over Labour’s cuts to pensioners’ energy payments is about to flare up again after damning new research

A new study shows more than 1 MILLION older people are skipping meals because of financial concerns. Even those eligible for ‘pension credit’- which is necessary for the #winterfuelalowance - are having to wait 12 weeks to be approved. This is inhumane: tinyurl.com/3k8c96f3

Interesting argument but I suggest that only supporting policies from those with whom you agree 100% is going to be a challenging position. Take the good where you find it.

I don’t know - perhaps you should be clearer?

Very pleased that the new Corporate Plan for Dorset Council will recognise issues specific to those ageing without children and other groups that are at greater risk.

When we have a house plant we water it, feed it and little more than that. With the recent budget changes we risk social care being reduced to treating human beings no better than a house plant.
