300 words on the #WIP today. I also fixed a plot issue, re-wrote part of an existing scene, and pondered the measurement of time.
(One reason daily wordcount goals don't work for me is that I often need to pause and do non-word things, and I get discouraged if I have a goal and don't make it.)

Easy reading doesn’t mean easy writing. It takes a lot of practice and expertise to make something seem effortless. (This goes for genre, comedy, kids’ books and lots of other well-crafted books not perceived as “literary.”)
And remember, our "Democratic Futures" special submissions call is open! In short, we're looking for original and reprint science fiction stories relating to the theme of the future of democracy. Submissions run until June 30!
