⚠️ When “safe in animals” goes terribly wrong…
In a now infamous clinical trial, a drug called TGN1412 was tested in humans at just 1/500th of the dose found safe in animals, hospitalising all six volunteers.
Animals are not reliable stand-ins for humans.
Scientists at @uniofsurrey.bsky.social are developing an animal‑free 3D model of human micro vessels to help us understand the causes of heart failure.
