Especially when the opposition are facing their own existential struggles.

It really takes a special gift to be fighting for your job less than two years after wining a landslide victory

Even British stalwarts like M&S and the RNLI have found themselves in the crosshairs

Were the suicides of Jeffrey Epstein and David Kelly really suicides? A former Lib Dem MP and Home Office minister believes the later wasn’t. Not saying I don’t believe they were, just that there is that tiny sliver of doubt that I sometimes entertain

This isn’t really a conspiracy theory as such. Heard a suggestion that it was Jacqui Smith’s teenage son that put pay per view porn on her expenses and the husband took the rap. Plausible and justified if true.

What about that United 93 was shot down by the USAF? Probably too much testimony from relatives as well as the sound of passengers storming the cockpit. Also they probably wouldn’t cover it up if they did shoot it down.

UK unemployment rate drops unexpectedly Most analysts had predicted the rate would remain unchanged at 5.2%.

Along with the economy growing faster than expected, things were tentatively starting to improve and inflation was falling too. Thanks Trump.

“Third World”, itself a dated term, is such a euphemism. I don’t think it counts as a dog whistle as everybody knows what is meant

Also doing it with No10 in the background seems like an implicit message. But, seriously, what’s wrong with the BBC?

I suppose ‘windfall taxes’ could be retrospective

Do they? It’s true that parliamentary sovereignty and that a current parliament can’t bind a future parliament means that they can happen but it’s a terrible idea as well as being wrong in principle

Leaving aside morality, it would be economically disastrous. Who’s going to invest if laws can be retrospectively changed?

I really hope the defendant wasn’t from an ethnic minority background.

Up until the 90’s, there were Tory MPs in parts of London that seems unthinkable now (Streatham, Lewisham, Hayes and Harlington, Dulwich, Edmonton)

Going through PMs like Man Utd goes through managers can’t be healthy

Anybody miss the days when we didn’t change PMs or talk about changing PMs every five minutes? Without giving away how old I am, I was well into adulthood when we had my first three year PM (Brown). Thatcher, Major, Blair (just three PMs in 28 years)

My unpopular belief is that politicians and civil servants should go business/first class on flights/trains

Oh I get the reason why it’s prohibited - it is a kickback and distorts incentives

I guess you could just not put in your frequent flyer number?

“Civil Servants need to be more like the private sector”. No, not like that

I remember then Speaker Michael Martin getting reprimanded for using similes gained on taxpayer funded flights. Can see why as it’s kind of a kickback but in other jobs it’s seen as a perk

I think airlines used to be more forgiving if you missed a flight. Before smartphones and other technology, time in airport was more likely to be wasted. Is there really not some life admin you could do if you’ve got an hour to kill in airport?

Oh God, my parents attitude to minibars made me think they’d have to sell a kidney if I had a drink from it

They seem to do this every few months. If they’re going to start retrospectively changing things like this, I can’t see why it will stop here. They’ll need to keep ratcheting it up. Wouldn’t surprise me if they start ‘reviewing’ citizenship

England left with ‘toilet deserts’ as public facilities decline by 14% in a decade Report says lack of provision is harmful to health and damaging for high streets

This constitutes a form of indirect discrimination against large parts of society.
