Oh yeah, the truth behind the MMR scare is so much more terrible than you could guess. It was all uncovered by this journalist named Brian Deer who wrote a book and made a documentary about it that’s on his YouTube channel: youtu.be/7UbL8opM6TM?...

A screenshot from the UK government survey on Road Traffic Offences reads - Note the word "accident" is used in the legislation, but we use collision or incident in this report as it is the most appropriate terminology"
Good to see the Dept of Transport highlighting that continuing to use the word "accident" isn't appropriate terminology anymore. So many media outlets could learn from this when reporting on driving offences. www.gov.uk/government/c...

Man, 27, in court over dangerous driving at fuel protest

A 27-year old man has been before the district court at Midleton in Co Cork, charged with dangerous…
Man charged with dangerous driving following incident at Whitegate oil refinery
Darra O’Shea of Corbally South, Ballincurrig, Leamlara Co Cork, is charged with dangerous driving at five locations in Co Cork during the fuel protest.
Guy who addressed the 'fuel protest' in Cork city - which had a weird amount of anti-vaccine signs for a fuel protest - is currently awaiting a trial date for harassing a Garda.
I once nearly got killed on a pedestrian crossing because a car pulled out and passed the car that had stopped to let me cross.
Someone ploughed right through our local pedestrian crossing as I was on it - the second time this has happened. Again, the excuse was "I couldn't see you because the sun was in my eyes".
I dunno man if you can't tell if a person sized object is 5m directly in front of your car don't accelerate eh.
I remember it vividly when cycling a decade ago. There are people who will genuinely argue with you that paying road tax gives them the right to drive dangerously.
In 2001, the term "accident" was banned in BMJ publications. Unintended injuries & deaths are due to the actions of people. The RoSPA report demonstrates that the implementation of austerity, for example, has caused, not only suicides and disease, but also unintended yet foreseeable deaths
“Running a red light puts pedestrians, especially vulnerable ones, at risk. Cyclists gamble on the fact that pedestrians will move out the way, ignoring any hidden vulnerabilities. Cyclists who run a red light for the sake of saving a few minutes could endanger other vulnerable road users”

The US and Israel started the war on Iran which led to fuel price increases, not immigrants who contribute so much to this island.
We must never lose sight of the real enemy: untaxed billionaires and warmongers.

On this day in 1856: Brunel’s South Wales Railway reached its terminus at Neyland. 🚂🏴
Completing a vital link for coal, Irish mail, and the dream of an Atlantic gateway, this line transformed West Wales forever.

And huge big fat cheques from car-maker William Morris. Mosley was given £35,000 by Morris to start the anti-Semitic newspaper Action, and £50,000 in 1930 to finance Mosley's fascist New Party, which became the British Union of Fascists. Henry Ford, too, was fascist, of course. Car makers, hey?
In the 1930s, Oswald Mosley claimed to be a patriot, while his British Union of Fascists was secretly funded by the Italian government. We are just beginning to grasp how much of the far right in the UK today has been funded by Viktor Orbán and Russian oil money.
Their "patriotism" is always a con.

One day I would like a story like this not framed from drivers perspective, how about something like:
"People using buses, walking, wheeling and cycling rejoice as 3,100 badly parked drivers no longer inconveniencing them" ?
A Labour councillor responds: "Animal cruelty and gambling addictions are what make the REAL working class".
It's getting close to that time of year again when we're reminded that we don't need Pride, because people aren't homophobic any more. 😮💨

And on that note I’m off to the seaside for pop and crisps. Positively Mediterranean on the Costa Humber today ☀️🍻☀️

Summer 1980, when Brigg still had some sort of useful passenger service, a 4 car working, fronted by a Cravens class 105, enters the station a while working a Cleethorpes to Sheffield Midland service.
The footbridge in the picture has been preserved.
