Agree. Social media is filled with bots and trolls. BBSs were actual people you got to know over years. They also weren't filled with advertisements and reliant on some algorithm choosing what you saw.
They were actual communities.

You know what I miss? Old fashioned bulletin board websites.

If you are over a certain age, you remember the old sites that were made up of people on bulletin board site talking about all sort of topics.

You ended up really getting to know people on those sites. It's sad they faded.
